Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 to update club championship and joint ventures regulation

As an avid gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that I am thrilled about the return of the Esports World Cup (EWC) in 2025! After the success of its previous edition, it’s exciting to see this grand event come back stronger with more games and a bigger prize pool.

The much-anticipated Esports World Cup (EWC) is set to return in 2025, following its triumphant finish in the preceding year. This global esports event will once more highlight a variety of popular esports games and the top teams across the globe. After undergoing a transformation from the Gamers8 event, this will mark the second time the competition takes place. In preparation for the event, the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 has announced an upcoming modification in their Joint Ventures and Club Championship rules, details of which will be unveiled shortly.

The major sports spectacle is set to commence in June 2025, right in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This occasion will showcase various electronic gaming competitions and a massive cash reward. The event is organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) and ESL FACEIT Group.

EWC 2025 club championship regulation update won’t allow point merging

In the second iteration of the Esports World Cup (EWC), the partnership rules are being altered to offer teams more autonomy in deciding their alliances. However, the specifics of this change have yet to be disclosed in full. What has been clarified is that collaborative efforts will not contribute towards a unified Club Championship ranking.

If the teams choose not to combine their scores, they have the option to unite if their specific title allows for it. For a club’s game rosters to add up towards the club championship, however, the club must maintain a consistent name across all matches and the championship itself.

If a specific game’s publisher requests an exception, the Entertainment Workers and Creators Federation (EWCF) might grant it. Yet, be aware that this is merely the beginning. Additional information about the specific rules and regulations will be revealed in Q1 of 2025.

Team Falcons won the club championship award in 2025

The EWC Club Championship is for ranking the participant clubs in the event. There are several criteria to fulfill to be considered as one of the club championship teams. It simply announces the best esports team in the world with an astonishing prize pool.

To be considered as a club, a team must achieve winning at least one tournament. The prerequisite for being a club involves placing among the top eight in no less than two contests. Moreover, each event in the EWC is allocated the same number of points. In the last edition, Team Falcons clinched the best team accolade with 5665 points. They were champions in not one but two competitions: Warzone and Free Fire.
