More information has been released regarding the Esports Nations Cup. Here is everything we know.
Late in 2025, the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) first announced the Esports Nations Cup, scheduled to start in November 2026. Initially, details were limited, but the EWCF recently shared more information about the upcoming tournament series.
Here is everything we know about the Esports Nations Cup.
Esports Nations Cup to include up to 48 teams per game(s) and up to 128 per solo games
A major update for the Esports Nations Cup is that team-based games will feature between 24 and 48 teams for each competition. It’s currently unclear which games will have the maximum number of teams.
Single-player games will now support a much larger number of players, ranging from 32 to 128. This will make the gaming experience more dynamic and competitive across different games, and we aim to make every match challenging and engaging.
This year’s tournament will include 16 team-based games played over four weeks. The games are created by leading developers like Electronic Arts, Chess.com, Krafton, MOONTON Games, SNK, Tencent, and Ubisoft.
The official game list for the Esports Nations Cup hasn’t been announced yet, but more details will be shared in the coming months.
Additional details (Who participates, dates and more)
The Esports Nations Cup is a new event with details still emerging. Currently, we know it will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, throughout November 2026. It’s planned as a bi-annual competition, meaning it will only happen every two years – so if you can’t attend in 2026, the next opportunity will be in 2028.
Given the huge popularity of the Esports World Cup, I expect most fans will also be interested in the Esports Nations Cup. The event won’t stay in one place forever either; it will move to different cities each year, though it’s unclear if that means different cities within Saudi Arabia or around the globe.
According to the EWCF, each country will have its own unique team roster. However, the exact details of how these teams will be formed are still unknown. Teams composed of club players won’t be allowed to participate, so it appears each country will field a team similar to an all-star squad.
The exact process for teams to qualify hasn’t been announced yet. More details about the Esports Nations Cup will be shared soon.
