Miley Cyrus had plans for a costly trip, but those plans were changed when Harrison Ford persuaded her not to go.
Although it may seem unusual, the singer revealed that she had known the 82-year-old for quite some time.
In August 2024, she achieved historical recognition as the youngest individual to receive the title of Disney Legend – an honor bestowed upon her during the D23 convention.
At the event, both Ford and Jamie Lee Curtis were there to bestow the award upon Cyrus. On Apple’s The Zane Lowe Show, Cyrus confessed that they were constantly pressuring him about various matters.
Curtis managed to persuade her to perform the song ‘Beautiful That Way’ from her film ‘The Last Showgirl’, a choice she made following Miley Cyrus discussing her parental disputes.

Instead of going on a large and unexpected tour for her upcoming album Something Beautiful, debuting May 30, she opted for a musical movie instead, after Ford convinced her to do so.
Jamie Lee Curtis convinced me to sing in the movie, as it was her who performed ‘The Last Showgirl.’ Therefore, we can thank Jamie Lee Curtis for my doing ‘The Last Showgirl.’
She mentioned, “I’ve been acquainted with Harrison Ford for quite some time, since I grew up around Disney, and we’ve moved in similar social circles.
He inquired from her, “What have you been working on? Are you creating an album in the studio or engaged in some other activity?
She remembered that I had said, “Well, I’ve got an idea up my sleeve.” And then I added, “In fact, I’ve created something and I have a PDF file of it on my phone which I can share with you.
She explained, “I demonstrate my concept of Somewhere Beautiful – it’s about staging performances within forests and even at pyramids. His response was something like, ‘You truly wish to establish this in a forest and carry out these activities?’
Cyrus recounted that Ford had responded in disbelief, saying something like “Wait, what?” Then, he expressed skepticism, saying “That looks expensive,” when she mentioned bringing her own crew for the concert. These remarks of Ford’s thwarted her plans for the concert.
She said, “I returned and told everyone, ‘We won’t be performing in the woods any longer.’ Harrison Ford’s argument was very convincing.” (She remembered this later.)

Rather than going on an extravagant trip, she opted to produce a movie instead, one she scripted and directed alongside Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter.
The movie is set to make its global debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6, and it’s expected to hit cinemas towards the end of the same month.
Cyrus stated that the reason for making this film is because it allows for an ongoing tour-like experience, as viewers can watch it repeatedly and feel involved in the performance, without having to personally exhaust themselves.
My fans feel a strong connection to me, similar to the excitement you might have experienced at concerts when you were younger. This bond is strengthened by seeing their favorite artists interact on social media platforms. As for my presentation style, I often speak in third person not because I’m referring to myself that way but because it’s how I would introduce myself in a formal context.
