On a recent Monday, Rachel Stevens provided insights into the current state of her relationship with partner Brendyn Hatfield.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I recently found myself in the spotlight, being one of the iconic S Club 7 stars at the age of 47, and partnering with a talented pro skater, aged 38, on Dancing On Ice for the year 2022. To keep things engaging with my supporters, I hosted an Instagram Stories Q&A session, allowing me to answer their intriguing questions directly.

During a Q&A session with her followers, a fan inquired about the star’s relationship status by asking, “What’s your current situation with Brendyn (heart emoticon)?

In response to sharing a lovely photo of her and Brendyn, implying their relationship was intact, she said, “Things are going really well, thanks!” accompanied by a heart emoji symbolizing love.

Rachel was previously married to real estate agent and actor Alex Bourne, 48, from 2009 to 2022.

In simple terms, she revealed in July 2022 that she and her longtime boyfriend were splitting up, which was only a month before their 13-year anniversary. Later on, the famous figure from S Club made known that she had discovered love with her Dancing On Ice partner, Brendyn.

In November 2023, the pair publicly confirmed their romantic relationship, having initially met during their time on the ITV program.

In the past, Rachel had discussed her split with Alex during a talk show on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, likening it to leaping from a high cliff.

She acknowledged that it involves quite a bit of maneuvering, particularly when dealing with the girls since they have consistently taken center stage.

I consider myself quite fortunate, as their father is an exceptional role model, and we’ve consistently shared the same values when it comes to ensuring their safety and maintaining honesty.

We’ve received valuable guidance on how to communicate with them in a way suitable for their age, aiming to make them feel secure throughout the process. This, after all, was my primary concern: understanding how they would navigate through everything.

She went on saying: ‘This isn’t just about getting married; it’s about creating a whole new lifestyle for yourself. It involves your immediate family, your social circles, the place you call home, and any children you might have.’

‘Changing your whole life, for me it felt like jumping off a cliff, like wow, it’s the unknown.’

However, I’ve consistently felt that one must strive for happiness, that it requires authenticity, and it’s a process that demands careful consideration and introspection, not a sudden choice.

‘I haven’t talked about it a lot publicly because I’m so mindful of everyone involved.’

In the mid-2000s, their paths crossed again. At that time, Rachel had just embarked on her solo musical journey, while Alex was still pursuing his acting ambitions in Hollywood.

In June 2008, they began their engagement, having dated for 18 months prior. The wedding ceremony took place at Claridge’s in London the year after that.

The couple strolled along the aisle as S Club 7’s popular song “Never Had A Dream Come True” played, and it was their bandmates – Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, and Tina Barrett – who looked on as they exchanged ‘I do’s’.

The former couple also share two daughters, Amelie, 14, and Minnie, 11.

Additionally, she talked about her developing relationship with Brendyn during that period, mentioning: “We’ve been extremely careful and considerate towards all parties, and the progress has been deliberate. But as we evolve personally, our perspectives on life shift too.

It strikes me that this is exactly what I’ve been seeking, what I long for, what I truly merit. Everything feels fresh, and it all seems to unfold naturally.

She commented: ‘Things develop naturally, and it’s not a matter of right or wrong; instead, it’s a fantastic journey for learning and development.’
