On a bustling Friday in London, Kate Garraway and Amanda Holden exchanged warm smiles and seemed overjoyed when their paths crossed near the Global offices.
In my line of expertise, I often encounter moments where individuals take a pause, even in the hustle and bustle of their hectic lives, to share a heartfelt hug in broad daylight. These brief encounters, filled with camaraderie and affection, serve as reminders that amidst our busy schedules, there’s always time for a meaningful connection.
58-year-old Kate recently hosted Smooth Radio’s Midday Program, and she ran into Amanda, aged 54, as the latter was exiting the studio following her stint on Heart Breakfast Show.
The hostess from Google My Business appeared casually chic, donning a denim jumpsuit paired with sneakers.
Meanwhile, Amanda was glammed up in a leather look burgundy dress and white high heels.

After it emerged that Kate had been presented with an overwhelming £280,000 tax liability stemming from her deceased spouse, Derek Draper’s business, the meeting took place.
The presenter frankly shared that she is now saddled with debts ranging from half a million to eight hundred thousand pounds as a result of caring for Derek.
In January 2024, the political lobbyist passed away at the age of 56, after a tough fight against long-term effects of COVID-19 for four years. Each month, Kate had been spending approximately £16,000 to cover his medical care.
Currently, a fresh report from the liquidator sheds light on the substantial tax obligations that remain unpaid by Derek’s former enterprise, Astra Aspera – a psychotherapeutic company that is no longer in operation.
The business, co-owned by Kate, faced bankruptcy, accumulating debts totaling hundreds of thousands of pounds towards various creditors, among whom was a significant amount owed to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
According to documents filed at Companies House, it appears that Kate has been making efforts to clear her outstanding debts. Notably, HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) has recently submitted a reduced revised amount, offering some relief in the process.
According to the provided documents, the most recent priority claim by HMRC amounts to approximately one-third (1/3) of its earlier proposed claim for 2023, which was £716,822; currently, it stands at £288,054.
The reason for HMRC stopping the payment remains unclear. Additionally, they’ve stated that there aren’t enough resources to distribute a dividend to secondary preferential creditors either.

Even though she’s still grappling with her financial difficulties, Kate seemed quite untroubled as she was seen outside her workplace on a Friday.
According to The Sun, Kate has so far paid back £21,000.
Regarding the reported filings, Kate’s representative informed TopMob that the surprised television personality denies the given figures and is currently communicating with HMRC to ensure compliance with their requirements.
Over the past four years, Kate has provided everything requested by Derek’s company’s liquidators, and even exceeded their expectations.
‘She doesn’t recognise these figures and is shocked that it’s being presented in this way by them.
Taking care of Derek and helping out his family, even after he was unable to manage his own businesses, has had a significant impact on her finances. However, she remains resolute in making things better.
