It’s been disclosed that Dolly Parton, who is both Miley Cyrus’ godmother and collaborator, didn’t take a liking to Miley’s previous musical phase.

In conversation with music journalist Zane Lowe, the 32-year-old pop sensation, whose father Billy Ray Cyrus recorded a tornado in Nashville on Wednesday, disclosed that the 79-year-old country music veteran, Dolly Parton, did not express fondness for her upcoming album titled Endless Summer Vacation.

The realization hit Cyrus when she remembered that Parton had shown indifference upon hearing the song “Something Beautiful” for the first time, which was part of her upcoming album with the same title.

Miley commented on the singer of Jolene, saying, “‘Ah, I understand your strategy. However, do you have any chart-topping songs?’

The ex-child star confessed that she didn’t enjoy my vacation period as well. Essentially, she said something along the lines of, “People keep asking me where you are, and I’m curious myself. It’s just you in a bikini every day, but I can’t help wondering what’s next?

Previously famous as Hannah Montana, she attempted to clarify to her godmother that by then, she had moved on to another endeavor. However, Dolly Parton responded dismissively, “A project isn’t something you just abandon like that!

Additionally, she explained that her music mentor played an unexpected role in inspiring two tracks on her forthcoming album through his unique methods.

In my role as a lifestyle aficionado, I recall an intriguing incident two years back when I was caught off guard in a car journey. Faced with the request for fresh tunes, I found myself improvising on the spot, presenting as if I had already penned down a couple of songs, albeit with mere sketches of ideas in my mind.

The singer from Flowers mentioned a song titled More to Lose: “I hadn’t penned it yet, but I knew its title. I said something like, ‘I’ll send it to you.’ She replied, ‘Do you have any more?’ I hesitated and responded, ‘Well…’

Originally from Tennessee, she recruited songwriter Michael Pollack to assist her in swiftly composing the melody. Later on, she shared this creation with Dolly, who yet again urged her for additional musical pieces.

It was at that point when Miley first revealed the as-yet unreleased track titled Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved.

She exclaimed, “Wow!” She implied, “That title is fantastic, it should define you entirely. You ought to establish a cosmetics line, numerous things.” I replied, “Indeed, yes, I am, I’m in the process of doing so,” but Miley was actually lying about that.

She said to Apple music’s Zane, ‘So all because of her did those two songs ever get created.’

Last year, it was revealed by the ex-Disney actress in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she faced criticism from Dolly Parton about her song “Used to Be Young”, which appeared on her album “Endless Summer Vacation”.

She expresses, “I’m unsure if I enjoy the latest Used to Be Young track, as it seems unfair for someone who is young and beautiful to be singing about not being young.

She shared that at her age, around 80, she felt as though that particular song was meant for her.” – Cyrus expressed to the media.

Despite Dolly’s objections, the song and album were a hit with fans and critics.

In 2023, the song “Used to Be Young” peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while its lead single, “Flowers,” marked Miley’s first Grammy Award victory.
