Robbie Williams has announced that he’s ready to unveil the album he’s long desired to create, after a wait of three decades.
On Wednesday, the 51-year-old artist unveiled his latest album titled “Britpop,” drawing inspiration from the period where he had notable disputes with the Gallagher brothers of Oasis, who were prominent during that era.
Previously hinted, the main track titled “Rocket” boasts the legendary guitarist from Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi, on the strings.
In discussing his latest work, Robbie shared: “I aimed to produce an album that I felt compelled to write and publish following my departure from Take That in 1995. This was the era of Britpop, a time considered the pinnacle for British Music.
On this latest album, I had the privilege of collaborating with some individuals whom I deeply admire. The sound is unpolished yet powerful, featuring a greater emphasis on guitar work, and it carries a more energetic and anthemic vibe compared to my previous releases.

Robbie went on saying, “‘British’ and ‘Pop’ elements are clearly present, and I take immense pride in this collection as a whole. I can hardly wait for listeners to enjoy this new album.’
Besides me, I’m equally excited to sing a few tunes from it during my forthcoming Britpop tour that kicks off in the UK. Naturally!
Robbie Williams has recently decided to rename his forthcoming concert series, which was originally titled Robbie Williams Live 2025, to the Britpop Tour instead.
The cover art of this album showcases the iconic red tracksuit that Robbie Williams donned at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995, during which he enjoyed a wild party with and momentarily bonded with Liam Gallagher of Oasis. It was also around the time when Robbie left the boy band Take That.
Nonetheless, the bond between Robbie and his siblings wasn’t always smooth sailing; Noel, in a well-known remark, once referred to Robbie as the ‘dance-loving member from Take That who was heavyset.’
Regardless of their history of verbal sparring, Robbie has consistently appreciated Oasis’ music. In fact, he has often expressed that if given the choice, he would rather create such music than the pop hits produced by his own band.
Robbie’s Britpop tour begins in Edinburgh on May 31 and continues with stops in countries such as Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Sweden.
