In the upcoming 2025 film, “Superman” commercial hints at David Corenswet’s Man of Steel’s method for overcoming one of its main antagonists. In James Gunn’s forthcoming DC Comics movie reboot, Superman won’t only face off against Nicholas Hoult’s villainous Lex Luthor, but a host of other adversaries such as the enigmatic Metamorpho, Ultraman, and The Engineer. It’s uncertain how the classic hero will vanquish these powerful foes, but he’ll certainly be kept busy.
Fans might have caught a glimpse of how David Corenswet’s Superman could vanquish at least one villain from the upcoming summer blockbuster, thanks to a commercial linked to the new DC Studios film. One of several villains reportedly appearing in the Superman movie includes a colossal kaiju monster that Superman will have to tackle. This gigantic menace has been shown causing destruction across Metropolis in various promotional materials for the film so far.
In a recently uploaded advertisement on YouTube (by user Random Media Archive), we get a sneak peek at a brand-new toy line related to the upcoming movie. This preview displays both a model made of plastic representing Superman and another set featuring the monstrous kaiju creature that will be in the film.
In the sequence of the set’s intense action, a strategic uppercut to the chin can split open the kaiju’s massive body, revealing that defeating the towering menace involves striking it in a specific spot. When hit correctly, this monstrous foe expels a runny, blue substance from its body, suggesting that this is the key to vanquishing it in the upcoming movie.
In simpler terms, this new exciting toy might offer an enjoyable experience, but it could potentially lead to a clean-up hassle in Main Street, Metropolis. This is due to the scenario where David Corenswet’s Superman, in a spectacular showdown with a kaiju, would forcefully emerge from its chest, leaving behind only the enormous remains of the creature and traces of its blue interior on the streets below.

In a notable comeback, “Superman” signifies a strong resurgence for DC Studios in cinema. It initiates James Gunn’s fresh take on the DC Universe and reintroduces the Steel Man to the movie screens since 2017’s “Justice League”.
The filmmaker from “Guardians of the Galaxy” is the director of the upcoming “Superman”. David Corenswet plays Superman who balances his role as a journalist in Metropolis with Lois Lane, portrayed by Rachel Brosnahan, and his life as an alien superhero. Nicholas Hoult takes on the villainous role of Lex Luthor. Find out more about the “Superman” cast here.)
How Will Superman Defeat the Movie’s Kaiju?
Although some might dismiss this toy filled with blue goo and shaped like a kaiju as merely a toy for children’s amusement, it could potentially reveal insights into one of Superman’s most impactful events.
So far, fans have been given sneak peeks of the titanic clash between the kaiju and a superhero in the trailers. Typically, these previews show Superman darting towards the gigantic monster and striking it on the snout while it wreaks havoc among the citizens of Metropolis.
If, after exercising great self-restraint to avoid alarming onlookers, David Corenswet’s character ultimately decides that he must exert all his strength to vanquish this reptilian antagonist, it might lead to Superman plowing directly through the creature, piercing its chest, and scattering its blue innards across the city below.
For those who appreciate James Gunn’s past creations, it’s clear why he would end an intense battle scene in such a sticky manner. Gunn isn’t shy about adding a touch of the grotesque to his projects now and then. Take, for instance, when Dave Bautista’s character, Drax, dispatched the Abilisks at the start of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
At times, Gunn’s characters might decide to confront their enemies head-on, creating a unique blend of body horror and humor in the process, which is yet another instance that could strengthen his impressive portfolio.
