As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as Disney prepares to unveil details about the upcoming Tom Holland film. A fresh report has dropped some tantalizing hints about the possible antagonists in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

At the ongoing Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products event at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Chris Higashi, one of the attendees, has dropped some tantalizing news about an upcoming Marvel movie. It appears that Spider-Man is a significant focus of the presentation, as a photo from the event suggests a collaboration between Spidey, Moana, and Buzz Lightyear. Higashi’s post hinted at other forthcoming Disney projects while also announcing: “Spider-Man: Fresh Start, Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone. That’s All Folks! 2026 promises to be fantastic!

Initially unveiled in early April, the anticipated release of “Brand New Day” is set for July 31, 2026. This information was shared at CinemaCon; however, specifics such as the plot or the villains that might appear have been kept secret until now. It has been confirmed that Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker, and Sadie Sink is set to join the cast.

The revelation that Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone will feature in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” definitely stirs things up, contradicting some of the recent speculation about “Spider-Man 4”. While it’s not completely ruled out, this development makes it seem less probable. However, a casting rumor that initially surfaced seems to hold water: there were reports suggesting Marvel Studios was planning a prison break, and fans guessed correctly that two of the only Spider-Man villains known to be imprisoned would be Vulture (Michael Keaton) and Mac Gargan/Scorpion (Michael Mando).

The sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home from 2021, titled Spider-Man: A Fresh Start, picks up after Peter Parker (Holland), having teamed up with his multiverse counterparts portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, wiped himself out of everyone’s memory. As a result, neither MJ (Zendaya) nor Ned (Batalon) recognize him anymore.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Follows Up on Avengers: Doomsday

Although it’s certain that Tom Holland will appear in “Spider-Man 4,” there’s a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where his involvement is still uncertain – “Avengers: Endgame.” There are whispers that Marvel and Sony are still negotiating, even though filming for the movie has already started. Holland’s name wasn’t included in the list of returning cast members during Marvel’s surprise live casting announcement.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that two exciting titles, “Doomsday” and “Brand New Day,” are set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in Phase Six, starting later this year with the arrival of The Fantastic Four. This new phase promises an epic return for Robert Downey Jr., stepping into the sinister role of Doctor Doom, marking the first Avengers movie since “Endgame.”

Many beloved Marvel characters will grace our screens when this film premieres on May 1, 2026. Although Spider-Man might be missing from this initial release, fans won’t have to wait long for another dose of Tom Holland as he reappears in “Brand New Day,” which hits theaters just a few months later.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
