As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can’t help but gush about Jason Statham – he’s an action star extraordinaire whose flicks never fail to pack theaters. And just like his previous blockbusters, his latest offering, [Title of Movie], was nothing short of spectacular.
The film had a relatively low reception from critics earlier this year, but it managed to gather more than decent interest from viewers, making it a financially successful action movie. After its success in cinemas, “A Working Man” has since become a global sensation on Amazon Prime Video, as reported by various sources, despite the unfortunate fact that the film is currently unavailable on the platform in the United States.
The film titled “A Working Man” was first shown in cinemas on March 28th, and it was released digitally on April 16th. Additionally, the movie debuted in various regions including Europe, North America, Central America, Latin America, and Australia on May 15th, a month after its theatrical release.
In just a few days following its release on Prime Video, the action film “A Working Man” quickly became the top-viewed movie in more than 40 countries where it’s accessible. This includes countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Canada.
At present, there’s no news about when the movie will arrive on the U.S. streaming platform. Nevertheless, eager viewers have not let that hinder them from watching the action film. Interestingly, “A Working Man” has been holding the second spot on Amazon for more than a week now, and it’s currently ranking fifth on iTunes. On Vudu, it stands at fourth place, indicating strong interest among audiences.
What Is A Working Man About?
In 2024, the action movie brought Statham together with director David Ayer again following their previous collaboration on The Beekeeper. The storyline is derived from Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Cade, published in 2014. The plot revolves around Levon Cade (Statham), who had a history in black ops but opted for a more peaceful, secure life as a construction worker. However, when his boss’ daughter, whom he considers like family, is abducted by human traffickers, his endeavor to rescue her leads him to uncover a level of corruption far exceeding anything he could have imagined.
The film, much like “The Beekeeper,” proved to be a lucrative venture. Titled “A Working Man,”, it garnered an impressive $98.6 million globally against a production budget of $40 million. This revenue was sufficient to cover its production and distribution costs, along with generating a profit. Despite receiving unfavorable reviews from critics, the audience compensated for this with a favorable 87% rating on the Popcornmeter, which bears a Verified Hot badge as well.
Prior to the movie’s premiere, the director hinted that “Indeed, as you know, Chuck wrote twelve books,” Ayer replied. “It’s an intriguing character. I believe we managed to decipher Jason and adapt Chuck’s novels into this world. There are certainly some loose ends in the story, and it’s ideally set up for a sequel. In fact, I could envision myself revisiting the character. I found him quite captivating.
A Working Man doesn’t have a streaming release date in the U.S. yet.
