Channel Seven star Erin Holland has opened up about the highs and lows of her unconventional long-distance marriage to Australian cricketer Ben Cutting.
The 36-year-old Australian model divides her time between Sydney and Brisbane. She lives in Sydney during the week, from Monday to Thursday, and then flies to Brisbane every weekend to spend time with her husband.
‘It sounds dramatic, but I do have to think like that sometimes. It’s been a hectic year,’ Erin tells this week’s Stellar magazine.
Honestly, the constant travel and crazy schedule have actually done me a favor – I’ve completely lost my body clock! It sounds weird, but jet lag just isn’t an issue for me anymore. I mean, if you asked me if I’d even gotten eight hours of sleep in the last day, the answer would be a definite ‘no’!
The presenter, originally from Cairns, relocated to Sydney at 17 to attend university and has called it home ever since. Ben, however, lives in Brisbane.
The power couple have only ever lived together for longer than a few weeks during Covid lockdowns.

She said that the only time Ben and she lived together for an extended period was during the COVID-19 pandemic. They usually only lived together for a couple of weeks at most.
I realized before our wedding that I could make things work with this person. We’ve been in a long-distance marriage for nearly five years now.
Erin’s friends and family sometimes wonder about her living situation, but she insists it suits both her and the other person involved.
‘Constantly. People came to our wedding who had never met him,’ Erin said.
People sometimes express concern, but frequent travel is simply a part of having careers that require it when you’re in a relationship.
For the couple, mutual understanding of each other’s demanding careers has been key.
Lots of families deal with the challenges of having a loved one work a fly-in, fly-out job. It hasn’t caused problems for us until recently, since we didn’t have children at home. What’s really helped our relationship survive is that we both understand and respect each other’s careers.
Erin has faced a lot of challenges in recent years, including the difficulties of a long-distance marriage and a difficult IVF journey. Over the past four years, she’s gone through 12 rounds of treatment.

This year has been incredibly challenging. She shared that she’s experienced a lot of loss, including miscarriages and unsuccessful attempts at IVF.
It’s really difficult to juggle work and personal life, and after four years, it feels like things won’t improve. I recently learned my sixth attempt at a transfer was unsuccessful.
Erin described the emotional and physical strain of IVF as overwhelming.
Building something new is incredibly demanding – it takes a toll on your body, mind, and finances. If you were certain it would all pay off in the end, you’d push through anything to achieve your goals, assuming those goals are truly what you desire. The biggest challenge, though, is the uncertainty. I’m struggling to find a balance between enjoying my life now and working towards the life I want in the future.
Erin was crowned Miss World Australia in 2013 and is a talented classically trained singer. She recently performed at the popular Carols in the Domain event in Sydney.
She presents cricket broadcasts for major tournaments like the Indian Premier League and the Pakistan Super League.
