On a casual yet stylish note, Erin Doherty attended the SAG-AFTRA event in LA alongside her Adolescence co-stars Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper on a weekday evening.

32-year-old actress known for The Crown series, was unrecognizable from her role as Briony Ariston, the forensic psychologist, when she chose to wear a blue jacket and chinos instead.

15-year-old prodigy, Owen, chose a casual tracksuit while he delivered his confident speech, sharing the spotlight with his fellow actors on stage.

At The Meryl Streep Center for Performing Artists, the actors participated in the Adolescence event, which was hosted by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations.

At the event, Ashley Walters, known for his role in Top Boy, was present as well, joining the cast during their question-and-answer session on the panel.

Making his debut in Hollywood, Owen jet-setted to the dazzling metropolis following Liverpool FC’s triumphant celebration on Sunday night.

Without any prior acting background before taking on the role of Jamie in the popular Netflix show, the actor is a strong contender to break records by winning an Emmy Award for his exceptional performance.

The actors have flown to Los Angeles to formally submit their applications for Emmy awards for their series, and if Owen manages to win, he’d become the record holder as the youngest winner ever, at only 15 years old.

The four-part series garnered critical praise upon its release on the streaming platform in March, with its narrative revolving around a 13-year-old boy who stands accused of killing a fellow student at their school.

In the series, it became clear that Jamie Miller’s perspective on girls was significantly influenced by online content, and it highlighted the extensive use of social media among high school students during school hours.

Previously in March, it was disclosed that Owen had been nominated in the Best Supporting Actor classification due to his portrayal of murder suspect Jamie Miller in a Netflix series which ranks among their all-time most popular shows.

Experts praised the strategic decision to categorize Owen under ‘Supporting Role’, instead of ‘Best Actor’. They argued that this change significantly increases his odds of claiming victory.

The young boy from Warrington is on track to become the youngest male recipient in the 76-year span of the ‘Television Oscars’, an honor bestowed upon him for the very first footage he captured during his debut acting role.

In a conversation with Gold Derby, Owen expressed his hope that he would remain humble if any award recognition were bestowed upon him.

If that turns out to be true, it would undoubtedly be a tremendous accomplishment and a significant milestone for me, he stated. I’ll simply accept it and proceed with the next phase of my journey.

This is something that will always remain a part of me, and I’ll carry the memory of it with me for as long as I live.

And he deflected the praise back to the team who surrounded him on the show.

The project originated with Stephen [Graham], Hannah Walters (the producer), Phil Barantini (the director), and Jo Johnson (also a producer). Without their contributions, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish it, he stated.

Stephen, who was also on the video interview, beamed as Cooper spoke.

He shared that among all aspects of creating the show, he feels most proud of providing a solid career platform in this industry for such an impressive young talent. This fills him with immense pride.

He noted that Owen possessed “raw skill,” and further explained, “Skill alone isn’t enough; you need to channel it effectively and transform it into results, which is precisely what he managed to do.

His skill is exceptional, and I’ve mentioned it previously. In my opinion, it’s a remarkable talent that transcends generations. The Emmy nominations will be announced in July with the ceremony taking place in LA in September.
