Erika Jayne’s husband Tom Giradi, 86, sentenced to lengthy prison term after being found guilty in fraud case

As a conscientious lifestyle advisor, I must share that I’ve recently learned about a fellow professional named Tom Girardi who has been handed a sentence of seven years and three months in a federal prison, following his conviction in a wire fraud case.

The 86-year-old, formerly respected attorney (who is estranged from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne), has been instructed to reimburse his victims an amount of $2,310,247 and pay a fine of $35,000.

The judge has ordered Girardi surrender to federal authorities by July 17. 

Representatives for Erika, the estranged spouse of Girardi, have been reached out to by DailyMail.com, however, they have yet to respond promptly.

Previously prominent lawyer was convicted in August for defrauding, on four counts, approximately $15 million from his severely injured or bereaved clients by misappropriating their settlement funds.

In simpler terms, the well-known lawyer, Girardi, who founded the renowned law firm Girardi & Keese following his battle against a significant California utility company that inspired the Academy Award-winning film Erin Brockovich, has been accused of four cases of wire fraud. However, he maintains his innocence regarding these charges.

2020 saw a dramatic fall from grace in his lucrative profession, as allegations surfaced that he had misappropriated millions in compensation funds he’d received on behalf of the victims of the 2018 Lion Air plane crash in Indonesia.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but delve into the intriguing saga surrounding the infamous crash, where 189 lives were tragically taken. This incident forms the foundation for ongoing criminal allegations against Girardi in the bustling city of Chicago. Remarkably, he has also pleaded not guilty to these charges, maintaining his innocence amidst this captivating drama.

Throughout the court proceedings, it was testified that from 2010 to 2020, the disgraced lawyer utilized his clients’ settlement money as if it were a personal savings account.

Previously, Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Paetty informed the court that Girardi Keese functioned as a nest of swindlers, with Tom Girardi serving as their leading con artist.

Girardi was found to have operated a large-scale pyramid scam, deceiving clients and utilizing the illegally obtained millions from their investments to finance an opulent lifestyle that included private jets, high-end automobiles, elite club subscriptions, costly jewellery for his third wife, Jayne (aged 52), a former go-go dancer, as well as $20 million to support her acting aspirations.

For over two decades, the pair had been in a relationship, but their divorce proceedings have been delayed since Jayne filed for it shortly after the Lion Air scandal accusations. This was when Girardi Keese, their legal firm, declared bankruptcy in 2021, amassing debts exceeding $100 million. Interestingly, Jayne failed to appear at her soon-to-be ex-husband’s court trial.

2022 saw Girardi being stripped of his legal license due to accusations leveled against him, and his defense team depicted him as experiencing symptoms of dementia instead.

‘He got old, he got sick, he lost his mind,’ his attorney Charles Snyder previously told the court.

‘All the lights were on but there was nobody home. He lost touch with reality.’
