Erik Thomson’s 25-Year Marriage Shattered!

Erik Thomson and wife Caitlin McDougall have reportedly split after almost 25 years of marriage.

In 1997, they crossed paths at a bar, but now they don’t interact on Instagram anymore, and it’s been over two years since either of them shared photos featuring the other.

According to the Herald Sun’s report from last Monday, neither party has publicly confirmed or denied the rumors about their split.

Last year, it’s believed that Thomson, 57, moved to Tasmania, having previously lived with McDougall in Port Willunga, located near Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula.)

In the meantime, it’s believed that McDougall continued working at her coastal studio in Port Willunga, where she expresses her artistic talents.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Thomson and McDougall for further comment.

In 1997, they crossed paths at a pub while watching the AFL Grand Final, and exactly two years after that, they exchanged vows in McLaren Vale, South Australia.

They got married at Penny’s Hill, a vineyard established by Tony Parkinson, who is McDougall’s stepfather. Now, they have a shared family consisting of their 15-year-old daughter Eilish and 12-year-old son Magnus.

During the years 2005 and 2006, they acted together on the mini-series “The Alice,” which was broadcast by Nine and was based in Alice Springs.

Initially, Thomson and McDougall resided in Sydney, with Thomson portraying the character Dave Rafter on the widely-loved Seven series Packed to the Rafters from 2008 until 2013.

In his spare time, often between acting jobs, Thomson regularly visited McDougall’s family on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Starting from 2013, he made this beautiful region his permanent home.

In 2016, Thomson shared with The Advertiser that we have our family here, it’s stunningly attractive, it offers great value, and it serves as an excellent foundation for us.

Originating from Scotland, this actor is particularly recognized for his portrayal in Packed to the Rafters. However, he has also graced the screens in well-liked series such as 800 Words and Aftertaste.

Additionally, he made appearances on the long-running medical drama All Saints that aired until its finale on October 27, 2009, after having been on the air for a remarkable 12 years.

Thomas starred as Dr. Mitch Stevens, a medical registrar, opposite actress Georgie Parker who played his romantic interest, Nurse Terri Sullivan, in the same television series.

During an interview with TV Week back in 2021, the two main actors shared insights into their characters and the legendary Australian romance that has become a cultural touchstone.

‘l loved Mitch and Terri’s relationship,’ Parker, 60, told the publication.

We greatly enjoyed ourselves while playing together, as we were confident in our physical abilities and shared a strong bond.

In one of the series’ most memorable moments, it was revealed that Mitch had been diagnosed with a brain tumor not long after his heartfelt wedding to Terry during a small, private ceremony.

Reflecting on the poignant moment when Mitch’s character met his end over a dozen years ago, I can’t help but feel a surge of emotion. The impact of that scene was profound and continues to resonate within me.
