I’m thrilled to be part of the excitement surrounding “Life Is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson.” As a supporter, I can’t help but feel elated as I share this news with you. The show is promised to be a musical feast, and the lineup announced Tuesday doesn’t disappoint! Bob Weir, Elvis Costello, Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, Eric Church, Noah Kahan, Mike Campbell, Warren Haynes, Bruce Hornsby, Taj Mahal, and Margo Price are just some of the amazing artists set to grace the stage.

A highly influential musician, known for his singing, guitar playing, songwriting, and composing, as well as being an original member of the Band, passed away last August at the age of 80. This came shortly after he finished working on the Oscar-nominated score for Martin Scorsese’s film “Killers of the Flower Moon.” Robertson drew inspiration for this project from his heritage as the son of a mother who grew up near Toronto on the Six Nations Reserve. Scorsese, who is famous for recording the Band’s farewell concert in 1978’s “The Last Waltz,” held a private tribute to Robertson in November at Village Studios in West Los Angeles and is listed as an executive producer of the event that took place in October.

Blackbird Presents, the company behind Willie Nelson’s two-night 90th birthday concert held last year at the Hollywood Bowl, is organizing a concert at the Forum. This upcoming event marks the 50-year anniversary of the Band’s iconic tour with Bob Dylan, which concluded at the Inglewood arena in 1974.

1. Starting this coming Friday, tickets will be available for purchase. A part of the earnings from these sales will be set aside for the Canada’s Woodland Cultural Center, an organization dedicated to preserving, fostering, and reinforcing Indigenous languages, culture, art, and history.
