Epic Transformers Unleash New Beastly Figures of Optimus Prime and Megatron!
The brand new “Wild King” is the latest addition to the ongoing “Transformers” franchise, which brings together Optimus Prime, Megatron, and several unique beast-like robots from the series. This Japanese release has recently unveiled its upcoming wave of animal-themed action figures.
The new wave of Transformers Wild King action figures introduces four fresh Energy Beasts that change into animal forms. These figures can interact with Optimus and Megatron toys from the same series, showcasing unique abilities that are far beyond what you’d initially expect. You’ll be able to get your hands on them in a few months, further expanding the diverse beast-themed collection.
Transformers Wild King Adds Four New Energy Beasts to the Series Lineup
The latest four figures, similar in basic design to other Energy Beasts, showcase distinct forms due to unique tooling. These newcomers are Ignite Leo, Drillnohorn, Spirituan, and Thunderbeak, who morph into a lion, rhino, spinosaurus, and pterodactyl respectively. Unlike previous line toys, these figures’ beast modes exhibit a more organic aesthetic, reminiscent of the animal shapes from the 1990s series Beast Wars: Transformers. Notably, Ignite Leo and Drillnohorn, who are depicted as Autobots, possess special features – Ignite Leo has a sword that integrates into his beast mode’s back, while Drillnohorn carries a pickax. Furthermore, each Energy Beast can merge with an Energy Master to form a limb.
These new Energy Beast toys can be combined and swapped with previous ones, while energy breastplates are also compatible with the chest ports of the corresponding Energy Masters. Each figure costs approximately $19.34 or 2,750 yen. Fans can pre-order these now, with a release date set for June 28, 2025. Sadly, there are no current plans to retail these figures in the West, so collectors will have to buy them online. In the meantime, new episodes of the Transformers Wild King anime series on YouTube continue to be released – this is the first Japan-produced Transformers anime in a decade. Interestingly, a similar series has started airing in the West through Hasbro, with the animated series and toy line being somewhat comparable.
