Thrill of top-level CS2 esports: PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 brackets breakdown

Watching this tournament feels like a continuation of all the amazing storylines we started following back in the 2026 Counter-Strike 2 season – seeing which teams are still on top and who’s fighting to get there. It’s been awesome to see how everything has unfolded!

Hopes for breakthrough

All four teams in the first qualifying group for the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 playoffs are looking to make a significant impact and advance in the competition.

  • MOUZ feel to be the biggest favorites. Their troubles usually start at the level of semis and grand finals: quite often, when they face Vitality. Such a matchup is a pretty real opportunity at this event, too.
  • NAVI has been struggling this season, as PGL Cluj-Napoca is the first tournament in 2026 where NAVI reached the playoffs. Facing MOUZ in the quarterfinals is a big challenge, though.
  • Team Falcons dream of a big victory. They were close to it at BLAST Bounty Winter 2026, but an underdog team did not let that happen. The thing is that Falcons fight the same opponents in the quarterfinal, PARAVISION.
  • PARAVISION won Bounty 2026 Season 1, but they couldn’t reach the grand final at IEM Kraków 2026. They have a chance to prove that the early-season success wasn’t just random luck.

Vitality to the grand final? FURIA are up to revenge!

This branch has two clear favorites and two underdogs.

  • Aurora players were in the Playoffs at IEM Kraków, but they couldn’t win the opening match. Their Swiss Stage performance at PGL Cluj-Napoca wasn’t too brilliant. To qualify for the final brackets, Aurora Gaming had to pull off a comeback from a 2:10 on Dust II in a match versus Astralis.
  • The MongolZ continue their struggle period from the late 2025. The team should prove they are still in the top-most tier.
  • FURIA lost to Team Falcons during the Swiss Stage, but the team was in the grand final of IEM Kraków 2026. Their rematch versus Vitality can happen in the semifinal at PGL Cluj-Napoca.
  • Team Vitality players are the top favorites on betting platforms, but CS2 esports is always unpredictable. Reaching the grand final feels like a logical result for the Budapest Major winners, who are proclaiming their era in Counter-Strike.

Following a brief pause, the competitive CS2 scene continues with ESL Pro League Season 23. This year’s league begins with online qualifiers, consisting of two Swiss stages running from February 27th to March 9th. The playoffs will then take place from March 13th to 15th.

While many strong teams are competing in this tournament, Vitality and Falcons have chosen not to participate. This creates more opportunities for other players, especially those considered underdogs.
