Epic Games has unexpectedly filed a lawsuit against a former employee. The company claims this person leaked secret information about upcoming Fortnite collaborations while still working for them.

Epic Games publicly stated that a contractor repeatedly leaked confidential information belonging to its partners, as well as its own internal secrets. This caused damage to its relationships with partners and interfered with plans for future content releases.

Today, we filed a lawsuit against a former contractor for repeatedly sharing confidential information and trade secrets belonging to our partners. This information was accessed during their time working with Epic. We have a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of behavior and will continue to pursue legal action against anyone who improperly discloses confidential information.

Court documents state that Hayden Cohen, who used the online handles “AdiraFNInfo” on X (formerly Twitter) and “AdiraFN” on Discord, had access to confidential information during his work as a contract Associate Producer for Epic Games projects.

Epic says Cohen signed a confidentiality agreement as a condition of his job. They allege he then misused his access to company information to find out about future Fortnite partnerships and revealed those details on social media.

According to the lawsuit, the leaked information didn’t come from publicly available sources or legal methods. It appears to have originated from within Epic’s own internal systems.

Leaks reportedly revealed multiple Fortnite collaborations before the public announcement

Epic claims a contractor shared confidential information about more than a dozen planned Fortnite partnerships with thousands of people online during January and February 2026.

The documents include a social media post from January 6, 2026, where the person leaking information revealed details about a future Fortnite collaboration with South Park. This included details about cosmetic items that hadn’t been made public yet.

Epic Games confirmed the South Park collaboration on January 8th, and the related in-game items became available soon after. The legal case also mentions another leak from January 13, 2026, reportedly from the same source, which revealed plans for a partnership with Solo Leveling.

Epic didn’t publicly announce the collaboration until February 18, 2026 – over a month after it happened. They also included pictures from social media as evidence to support their claims.

Things are currently quite disorganized, and it appears some employees are undermining the company’s work. The information we’re receiving may be coming from internal, confidential sources. We need to investigate this further, as we anticipate learning more about the situation.
