Epic Games Store on Mobile introduces Free Games Program starting today

Story Highlights

  • Epic Games, in partnership with Playdigious, is offering Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee for free until February 20, 2025.
  • They are beginning by offering new games each month, with plans to move to a weekly schedule later this year.
  • Epic Games is also rolling out new features to the Epic Games Store Mobile app, including Epic Account login and an auto-update feature.

Globally, including Android devices and exclusively in the EU for iOS, Epic Games unveiled the worldwide launch of their free game offering. In conjunction, approximately 20 games from third-party developers are being added to the Epic Games Store. The store made its entrance on both platforms back in August 2024; however, the iOS version is only accessible for users within the European Union at this time.

Enjoy free games every month on Epic Games Store, starting with Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee

Today marks an exhilarating moment for mobile gamers everywhere, as Epic Games has finally debuted their Free Games initiative, complete with a selection of third-party titles and refreshed design elements and features within the app!

As a gamer, I’m pumped to spread the word that we’re releasing the initial batch of games from third-party mobile developers! These fresh titles are now up and running alongside Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe on our Epic Games Store mobile app. Can’t wait for you all to check them out!

Epic Games has teamed up with Playdigious to debut “Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee” as a free game on the Epic Games Store Mobile, available for free until February 20, 2025. Notably, they’ve also revealed that “Bloons TD 6” will be added to the store in the near future.

Initially, fresh games will be introduced monthly, transitioning to a weekly rollout later this year, Epic Games announced. Additionally, they’re unveiling additional app features like the Epic Account login and an automatic update feature, both of which I find quite beneficial.

Epic Games is bringing a lot of benefits to mobile game developers

They’ve expanded the PC terms to cover mobile devices as well, encompassing “the 88/12 revenue share for payments we handle and zero percentage for third-party transactions,” they clarified. Through their “Launch Everywhere with Epic” initiative, developers can enjoy extra perks, including the “Epic First Run”, which boosts the developer’s profit share during a game’s initial release on the Store.

It’s clear that these advancements are significantly important for the mobile gaming community. I’m confident that Epic Games Store’s free games program on mobile, along with the latest updates, represent progress in a favorable direction for both gamers and creators. Additionally, Epic Games has begun offering self-publishing tools for mobile games, initially in an exclusive beta test, with plans to expand access to all publishers and developers later in the year.
