Epic Games, known for its hit game Fortnite, has revealed a significant multi-year agreement with global telecommunications leader Telefónica. The goal is to make Fortnite and the Epic Games Store more convenient for users. This partnership involves pre-installing both Fortnite and the Epic Games Store on Android devices compatible with Telefónica’s network, offering a seamless experience right out of the box.

Today, it’s been revealed that Epic Games has entered a partnership with Telefónica, as announced through X (previously known as Twitter) and their official website. According to the announcement, starting from now, all new Android devices within Telefónica’s network will come pre-installed with both the Epic Games Store and Fortnite. The Epic Games Store made its global debut on Android and iOS on August 16, 2024.

This extended collaboration seeks to simplify the play of games such as Fortnite, Fall Guys, Rocket League Sideswipe (which was temporarily removed from global Google Play Store and European App Store on August 23, 2024), and more for Android users living in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Latin American countries where Spanish is spoken.

Users can expect additional benefits from this collab starting next year

Previously, Epic Games and Telefónica have teamed up on a project. During the global pandemic, they jointly developed a distinctive interactive music event within Fortnite, featuring the O2 Arena. Additionally, Telefónica was the pioneer in implementing Direct Carrier Billing as an option in the Epic Games Store.
