Emotional Oasis fans laud reunion tour’s Cardiff opening as ‘greatest rock show of all time’ as brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher proved it was worth the 16-year wait

Fans of Oasis were left amazed when the legendary band came together again after a long hiatus of 16 years, putting on a thrilling performance filled with vigor and a sense of the past.

On a buzzing Friday evening, I found myself amongst over 75,000 music enthusiasts filling the iconic Principality Stadium in Cardiff, marking the commencement of the much-anticipated Oasis reunion tour.

With Noel Gallagher, aged 58, and his brother Liam, aged 52, sharing a stage after more than a decade, the crowd’s adoration and enthusiasm reached new heights.

Expressing their sentiments on social platforms, numerous individuals hailed it as “the best rock n roll performance ever” while acknowledging the “significant” event.

Liam sounds incredibly amazing! It seems that Oasis is back, which is even more thrilling than if Jesus himself were to return!

‘I died and ascended to a new plane’;

Four months ago, the arrival of my daughter marked the best day of my existence. Tonight has become the second most memorable night of my life. Sharing an Oasis concert with my father and brothers is priceless; it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before – what a magical evening! #Oasis #oasiscardiff

‘Goosebumps. That was epic!!! #oasiscardiff #OASISLIVE2025’;

‘Timeless. Absolutely f*****g incredible. You HAVE to go see them. Oasis are BACK’;

‘Even if you believe you’ve witnessed all there is, I assure you there’s still more to discover. That is, unless you were present tonight for the second round of @oasis and @liamgallagher’s Rock n Roll performance! Simply incredible, it was. #Oasis #oasiscardiff #OASISLIVE2025’

‘What a performance that was tonight #Oasis #oasiscardiff #OASISLIVE2025’;

‘Greatest rock n roll show of all time #Oasis #OasisLive25′;

‘Not only did Oasis reunite, but they restored their reputation. It wasn’t simply a case of reminiscing; it was a new beginning. #oasislive25’

‘Those who didn’t secure Oasis tickets and thought the concert wouldn’t be impressive are now incredibly disappointed… and it’s understandable. Massively disappointing. #oasislive25’

For those holding tickets for ‘#oasislive25’, get ready for an unforgettable experience! The band is performing exceptionally well, and the hits just keep coming – one great song after another. We can’t wait until Saturday at Heaton Park!

To begin the performance, Liam and Noel strolled out arm-in-arm, showing a touching sign of solidarity. They then smiled approvingly at the audience, who responded with thunderous, ear-splitting applause.

On a bustling Friday night, I couldn’t help but echo the Manchester spirit, announcing, “Feeling the Manchester vibe here,” before launching into our first number – the fitting opener from our 1995 masterpiece, ‘What’s The Story (Morning Glory),’ titled ‘Hello.’

Afterward, they moved on to a track called Acquiesce, which is from their debut album released in 1995. This was succeeded by Morning Glory, the title track of their second studio album.

Liam shouted out: ‘Yes beautiful people! It’s been too long.’

He then ordered the crowd to ‘turn around and bounce’ ahead of Cigarettes and Alcohol.

Following the performances of Some Might Say, Bring It On Down, and Fade Away, Liam took a break, while Noel continued with an acoustic rendition of Talk Tonight.

Later, Noel seemed touched while playing Half The World Away, and at one instance, there was a brief pause in his singing.

Later on, Liam commented: ‘Were you enjoying yourself?’ prior to discussing the ticket issue. His question essentially meant: ‘Given that you spent £40,000 on the ticket, was it a good investment for the experience?’

The prices for seats at their Wembley performances initially started at £74.25, while the priciest option was a pre-show party costing £506.25.

During different sequences, heartfelt images of their house in Manchester were displayed on the screen, accompanied by childhood photos of both siblings.

Periodically, old photographs in black and white featuring their mother Peggy and father Tommy were displayed on the screen as Stand By Me was playing.

Elsewhere in the show, they honoured late Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota with a touching tribute.

On Thursday, Jota, aged 28, along with his 26-year-old brother Andre, a football player who represented the Portuguese second division team Penafiel, tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Spain.

While trying to pass another car on the A-52, close to Cernadilla near Zamora (which is about 10 miles beyond the Portuguese border), his Lamborghini Huracan experienced a tire explosion.

In tribute to Jota, they performed their renowned song “Live Forever,” displaying a shining banner depicting the ex-Portugal national team player, wearing a Liverpool jersey but facing away from the audience.

As a devoted admirer, I found myself caught up in the rhythm of Rock n Roll as the brothers concluded the performance. Yet, the crowd’s enthusiasm didn’t wane; they yearned for more. And, just like that, our favorite duo graced us with their return, leaving two beloved hits yet to serenade us.

As the audience erupted in joy, they sang Wonderwall, causing the siblings to grow sentimental as they prepared to conclude their performance.

‘Thanks for putting up with us over the years. We’re hard work. We get it,’ Liam gushed.

They then rounded off their first gig in 16 years with legendary track Champagne Supernova.
