It was so emotional watching Leigh-Anne Pinnock talk about everything she’s been through! From those early days on The X Factor to finally putting out her first album as a solo artist, you could really feel how much this journey means to her. I honestly teared up with her – it’s been amazing to watch her grow and I’m so proud of everything she’s achieved.
The 34-year-old singer became well-known in 2011 after winning the ITV reality show that launched the band Little Mix.
Leigh-Anne got emotional during an interview on Capital Breakfast with Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie. She discussed the past 15 years and talked about her new solo album, ‘My Ego Told Me To’.
Shayna asked Leigh-Anne, recalling her time as a nineteen-year-old performing on stage in Ibiza, ‘Knowing what you know now, on the eve of releasing your first solo album, what advice would you give to that younger version of yourself?’
Leigh-Anne replied: ‘I would say: you did it!’
Oh my gosh, Shayna just gets it! She totally understands how HUGE this is. She was like, ‘Everything is happening right now!’ And she’s right! After all this time, all the effort… the album is finally coming out tomorrow! She said it like, ‘You actually did it!’ and I just… I can’t even breathe. It’s real! It’s actually happening!
Rob continued, saying, ‘We really don’t want to upset anyone, but we want you to understand how far you’ve come. Think about everything you’ve experienced in life and your career, all the challenges you’ve overcome, and the fact that you’re still pushing forward – it’s truly inspiring!’
Shayna pointed out that many young women, perhaps nineteen years old, will be thinking about pursuing their dreams, like becoming a singer. She then reflected that the person they were asking had once been in that same position, and now look at where they are – it’s amazing!
Leigh-Anne became emotional and encouraged others to stay strong and never give up.
Hold onto that inner belief you have, even when others try to discourage you. Keep telling yourself, ‘Yes, I can,’ and then go make it happen. What other people say usually doesn’t matter.
You’re incredibly determined and believe in yourself, and that’s exactly what you need to succeed. It won’t be easy, but I always make sure to thank her because she’s always been a motivating force – a little spark that keeps things going.
I owe everything to her and her incredible drive. I really wanted to create this project because I miss her dearly. She’s always been a constant presence in my life, a true fighter, and so incredibly strong. We’re here today because of her.
Shayna said, “We made it! She’s strong and determined, and so are you. You’ve both shown incredible strength. Plus, your album comes out tomorrow – everyone will get to hear it and understand what you’ve been through. I really hope you feel that too.”
Plans for a Little Mix reunion are now uncertain following Jesy Nelson’s emotional revelations in her recent documentary.
The 34-year-old singer shared last week that she attempted suicide shortly before leaving her successful band in 2020.
In a new documentary series on Prime Video, Jesy Nelson shared that she felt incredibly lonely and said her former Little Mix bandmates – Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Jade – didn’t respond when she reached out for help before her overdose.
This was Jesy’s second suicide attempt, following a previous overdose in 2013, which she detailed in her BBC documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out.
Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Jade are said to be upset by Jesy’s recent statements, which have resurfaced painful memories from their shared history.
According to a source, Jesy Nelson’s recent revelations have stirred up difficult emotions for her former bandmates. The documentary about her experiences and the public reaction to it have resurfaced painful memories from the past.
‘It’s been upsetting for the girls, but they are focused on their solo careers and the future now.’
Jesy Nelson’s recent statements haven’t been publicly addressed by her former Little Mix bandmates. However, during a performance of her song ‘Natural’ on her US tour, Jade Thirlwall became emotional onstage. The song is rumored to be about the difficulties in her friendship with Jesy.
The song expresses the difficulty of loving someone who struggles with self-hatred, and acknowledges the toll it takes on the singer’s own well-being to try and support them.
Oh my gosh, I’m seriously checking Perrie’s Instagram like, every five minutes! She just had her second baby, and she’s been so quiet online, which is killing me! The last thing she posted was a week ago, promoting ‘Woman In Love,’ and it was EVERYTHING. I just need more Perrie content, please!
She moved up the release date by four days, having initially planned to launch it alongside Jesy Nelson’s documentary.
Leigh-Anne has been sharing a lot on social media lately, promoting her new album ‘My Ego, Old Me 2’ while she’s on tour.
She shared with her fans how thrilled she is to finally perform the album live, calling it a return to what makes her happiest and promising a truly special show.
Daily Mail have contacted Jesy, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne’s representatives for comment.
