Emotional LeAnn Rimes reveals secret health struggles after her teeth fell out midperformance

LeAnn Rimes recently opened up about her private health issues and explained how sharing her experiences has been beneficial for her well-being.

The 43-year-old singer discussed the issue in a recent interview with Us Weekly, which was published on Tuesday. She’s joining the cast of the upcoming series, 9-1-1: Nashville.

The singer, who lost some teeth while performing a few months ago, has been sharing health updates with her fans. Last year, she had surgery to remove cells that could have become cancerous.

In 2020, LeAnn Rimes publicly shared on social media that she has psoriasis, explaining it felt like a weight lifted after years of keeping it a secret.

I’ve really come to believe that sharing my experiences with mental health, and now navigating perimenopause, is incredibly powerful. Every time I open up, it not only helps *me* feel lighter, but I hope it gives others permission to do the same – it’s like we’re all freeing each other, one conversation at a time.

The singer of “I Need You” shared that she used to keep a lot about herself hidden, and this made her feel insecure.

It helped me address past insecurities, like feeling unattractive or inadequate. I discovered how to accept and love myself, embracing all the different phases of my life.

Rimes further expressed, ‘I’m aware of getting the chance to love all of the aspects of myself.

I used to struggle with self-criticism, but now I have the emotional energy and ability to be more compassionate towards myself. I’m learning to speak to myself with kindness.

Even though she’s been dealing with health issues, the performer shared with the outlet that she’s feeling good.

I’ve been prioritizing my physical health lately, and getting my body ready for the natural changes that come with time.

Rimes has been open about dealing with perimenopause symptoms, which began in her late 30s.

She told Us Weekly that there is ‘grief’ when it comes to perimenopause.

Perimenopause isn’t simply the end of fertility. It’s a significant biological shift, but also a time of profound personal growth. It’s a natural process of letting go of things that no longer fit who we are, allowing us to evolve and deepen as individuals.

As a lifestyle expert, I truly believe understanding your body is one of the most empowering and beautiful journeys you can take. When you’re in tune with what’s happening internally, it’s incredibly transformative.

In a July interview with Flow Space, she described a period where she felt overwhelmed, saying, ‘I honestly thought I was losing my mind for about two years.’ She explained she was constantly waking up at 3 a.m. and experiencing intense anxiety.

The actress from *Coyote Ugly* also has psoriasis, a long-term skin condition that causes raised, itchy, and scaly patches, according to the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Okay, so LeAnn Rimes – seriously, she’s amazing – was talking about her skin, and she told Flow Space it’s actually been *really* clear for years! And get this, she totally knows what makes it break out, like she’s a skin expert or something. It’s just…she’s so put-together, it’s inspiring!

Honestly, it breaks my heart to even think about it, but she’s told me it can be *really* draining when she has to deal with a flare-up publicly. Being constantly in the spotlight while she’s already going through so much… it just sounds incredibly emotionally exhausting for her, and I wish everyone would just give her some space when she needs it.

Honestly, it was exhausting. It’s one of those things that constantly weighed on my mind, something most people never even consider. For a long time, it just left me feeling really disconnected from and uncomfortable in my own skin.

Last January, LeAnn Rimes shared a health update with her fans, explaining she had surgery to remove some potentially cancerous cells.

She penned in the caption of an Instagram post: ‘January is usually a challenging month for me.

The last couple of years around this time have been tough, filled with dental surgeries and recovery from a vocal hemorrhage, which really brought me down. However, this January has been different – it’s been genuinely joyful and peaceful.

A few months earlier, the star had an annual pap smear but the results came back as abnormal.

I’ve had unusual Pap test results since I was seventeen, and my doctors have been monitoring any changes in my cervical cells with regular Pap smears and colposcopies.

Rimes then explained that doctors discovered that she had high grade cervical dysplasia.

Okay, so I recently spoke with my doctor, and after discussing everything, we both agreed that a LEEP procedure was the best course of action for me. Basically, it’s a way to remove some abnormal cells that showed up on my tests – thankfully, they were pre-cancerous, meaning we caught things early, and this procedure is a really effective way to take care of it.

Back in June, LeAnn Rimes had a bit of a mishap on stage at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington – her dental bridge came loose during the performance.

LeAnn Rimes got dental veneers at age 16, but they weren’t properly attached, so she had to see another dentist to get them fixed.

It resulted in the singer having to undergo a number of root canals as well as oral surgeries.

She shared what happened with her fans in an Instagram video, explaining that while performing ‘One Way Ticket’ on stage, she suddenly felt something burst in her mouth.

As many of you know, I’ve had a lot of dental work done, including a bridge in the front of my mouth. Unfortunately, it came loose while I was singing last night.

Rimes quickly made her way to the side of the stage to put the bridge back into place.

I needed to be honest with the audience and explain what was going on, or I would have had to stop performing. Throughout the rest of the show, I was constantly pushing my teeth back into place while singing, every few lines.

She explained that she had no choice but to either leave the situation or endure it, so she decided to just deal with it and keep going.

In addition to pursuing her love of music, LeAnn Rimes has returned to acting, playing the character Dixie Bennings on 9-1-1: Nashville.

The latest series in the 9-1-1 universe will premiere on ABC this week, on October 9th.

She also talked to Us Weekly about stepping back in front of the camera and portraying Dixie.

LeAnn Rimes shared that performing allows her to express a part of herself she usually keeps hidden, which she finds incredibly therapeutic. She also admitted it pushed her outside of her comfort zone.
