On a Friday, Kate Cassidy held back her emotions while preparing a birthday cake for her departed partner, Liam Payne.
In a recent Instagram post, the 26-year-old social media personality seemed distressed, expressing sorrow over the death of the ex-One Direction band member who would have turned 32 today.
She seemed deeply saddened as she posted a touching tribute to the celebrity, who tragically passed away in October following a fall from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Kate added a heartfelt note to the post, saying: “Happy birthday Liam, it’s certain that you’ve kept your fondness for sweets even up in heaven.
‘I tried my best here but it’s the thought that counts enjoy.’
She signed off the caption with a red love heart emoji, sharing her sadness with fans.

Kate adorned the cake with frosting and colorful sprinkles, then emotionally blew out a candle while saving a slice for both her and their cherished dog, Nala.
She uploaded another video which included a montage of memories of the two of them.
Next to it, Kate wrote: “August 29, 1993 – a remarkable day for an extraordinary spirit. I miss you dearly. Happy Birthday, Liam! If only we could celebrate together in this life or the next.
Fans were left sobbing in the comments as many rushed to consolidate Kate over her sad loss.
In June, someone asked Kate about her favorite photo with Liam, and she showed a picture taken from the coffee table, which held a variety of printed photos.
A charming photo captures Liam and Kate snuggling close at Disneyland, while another shows them smiling brightly during a fashionable outing filled with enjoyment.
In addition, she displayed a Polaroid photograph featuring Liam, who was performing an inverted peace sign, with the message ‘I love you’ clearly visible on it.
She wrote, “I have quite a collection of them, but I always leave these on my coffee table.” She added, “Perhaps it’s time to invest in some frames.

It comes after Liam’s ex Cheryl announced her return to the spotlight, following his tragic death.
42-year-old Sarah Harding, known for her work as a singer in Girls Aloud, has been showcased in a fresh campaign by skincare brand Nivea. The partnership was unveiled on Instagram on Monday, featuring subtle references to her professional journey throughout a short promotional video.
In an eye-catching scene, Cheryl, mother of eight-year-old Bear (son of the deceased celebrity), confidently walks into a studio. Later, she’s seen sitting with her face concealed by a newspaper displaying lyrics from her 2019 song Fight For This Love and the date August 2025.
The screen displays a notification saying, “‘A New Era” begins tomorrow.” The social media post accompanying the video reads, “We can’t wait for this! Join us tomorrow at 9am as we embark on a new journey in skincare…
The star was left heartbroken when One Direction star Liam passed away.
The Nivea caption pays homage to one of Cheryl’s frequent phrases used during her time as a judge on X Factor, which went something like this: “You really appeal to me.
The video commences by showing the stars exiting a vehicle, flaunting their high heels, followed by adjusting the belt of their trench coat and fixing their hair.
A closer look at her is given when the camera focuses on her distinctive tribal hand tattoo, a mark that’s now closely associated with this celebrated figure.
Following Liam’s death, Cheryl chose to step out of the public eye, having completed a tour with Girls Aloud in May, mere months before his unfortunate demise.
