Emotional drama branded “a must see” jumps up UK Netflix chart after quiet release

A new drama called Ripple recently arrived on Netflix this Christmas season. It quietly launched last week without much publicity, but is quickly gaining attention.

Despite little publicity, the show has steadily climbed the ranks on Netflix UK and is now the eighth most popular title.

Okay, so this new series has some familiar faces – Frankie Faison from The Wire, Julia Chan who was in Saving Hope, and Ian Harding, you might recognize him from Pretty Little Liars. It’s about four people in New York City, and their lives just randomly connect, and honestly, it totally changes everything for them. Sounds intense!

I’ve been checking out Ripple, and honestly, it’s really grabbed me. I’ve seen a lot of people online saying the same thing – it’s getting great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and a lot of us are saying it reminds us of This Is Us in a good way.

This show is exactly what television needed! It’s been a while since a series captivated me like This Is Us did, and I immediately watched all eight episodes. The characters are fantastic, and it’s a truly excellent show – you absolutely have to see it!

This series is fantastic – the characters are compelling, the stories are moving, and the setting really brings it to life. It’s similar to This is Us in how it connects the lives of seemingly unrelated people in New York City, making them feel like family. It was so good, I didn’t want it to end, and I’m hoping it gets renewed for a second season!

If you have already watched Ripple, we have some positive news on the drama’s future.

In an interview with What’sOnNetflix, the creator of the show, Michele Giannusa, shared that she has plenty of future storylines planned and a clear vision for how Ripple will ultimately conclude.

From the very beginning of the show’s creation, I had already planned out five full seasons, and that vision never changed,” Giannusa explained.

Okay, so I’ve seen the very last scene of the finale – I know how it all ends! And honestly, I’m really hoping we get to make more of this game/story/show, because I’m totally invested and want to see where it goes next.

Ripple is available to stream now on Netflix worldwide.
