Emmys 2024: Selena Gomez finally gets the nomination she deserves for Only Murders in the Building!
As a huge fan of Selena Gomez, I’ve been in awe of her talent and growth since her early days on “Barney & Friends” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Her recent role as Mabel Mora in “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu has solidified her place as a force to be reckoned with in the acting world. And it’s about time she received the recognition she deserves at the 2024 Emmys!
Selena Gomez has shown her amazing abilities since her childhood. At just 10 years old, she made her debut on “Barney and Friends.” During her teenage years, she became well-known for her role as Alex Russo in “Wizards of Waverly Place” on Disney Channel. This versatile artist continues to impress us, and her latest performance in “Only Murders in the Building” is no exception. At last, her exceptional work is being acknowledged with a nomination at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
Gomez has earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series on Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” recognition long overdue. Her portrayal of Mabel Mora, characterized by her witty deadpan delivery, never fails to bring laughter.
For the first time ever, the star has been nominated for an Emmy award in the acting category. Previously, she had been recognized for her role as an executive producer at the 2022 and 2023 Emmy Awards. It’s about time this talented actress received the recognition she deserves for her acting skills.
I’m rooting strongly for Gomez to take home the award. Her performance is truly deserving, but she faces tough competition from talented actresses like Jean Smart for “Hacks,” Kristen Wiig for “Palm Royale,” Maya Rudolph for “Loot,” Ayo Edebiri for “The Bear,” and Quinta Brunson for “Abbott Elementary.” What an impressive lineup of contenders! It’s going to be a challenging decision for the voters.
Initially, I have great affection for Ayo. However, I don’t find “The Bear” humorous in the slightest. Yet, it continues to be recognized as a comedy at the Emmys, which is quite frustrating. Nevertheless, Ayo is nominated in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category. Thus, either Ayo or Quinta (I adore them both!) could take home the award. I’m torn between my allegiance to all three exceptional actresses in this category. This threesome comprises some of my favorite performers at present. The decision will be challenging, and I shall be filled with anticipation.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled this time around to truly support Gomez! And even if she doesn’t take home the prize, it’s amazing to see her being acknowledged and nominated. For far too long, she has been overlooked by award shows. Being nominated itself is an immense honor, and I’ll be rooting for her throughout the entire ceremony!
