Reflecting upon the illustrious career of this multi-talented individual, I am utterly captivated by the diverse range of roles he has embodied over the years. From a humble boxer to a cold-blooded killer, and from a champion cyclist to a bank robber, his journey through the silver screen is nothing short of extraordinary.

He is a veteran actor with over 60 credits to his name.

To date, his most significant achievement has been receiving a nomination for the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards in the Best Television Movie category for “The Survivor.

Apart from recognition, he’s famed for his roles in the iconic western films, 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and Hell or High Water (2016).

Currently, he’s displaying a remarkable change on the film set located in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Sydney Sweeney, equally transformed, prepares to portray Christy Martin – a renowned boxer from the ’90s – in an upcoming biopic.

Can you guess who the actor is?

It is Ben Foster!

In the filming of the unnamed biography, the 43-year-old actor appeared dramatically transformed, sporting a blonde hairstyle that resembled a comb-over and a clean-shaven face.

In the upcoming movie, directed by David Michód, the role of boxer Christy Martin will be played by Sydney, aged 26. It’s yet to be determined who Ben will depict in this biographical film.

Born in West Virginia and raised by a coal miner, Christy, now 56 years old, gained recognition for being one of the pioneers of women’s boxing. She made history when she faced off against Deirdre Gogarty at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 1996, in a match that sold out the arena.

She adorned the cover of Sports Illustrated, showed up on chat programs, and occasionally featured in American situation comedies.

Despite the glamourous image portrayed by the cameras, Christy’s life off-set was far from it. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, she revealed that for 20 years, she endured abuse at the hands of her husband and trainer, James ‘Jim’ Martin.

On November 23, 2010, he repeatedly stabbed Christy multiple times and fired at least one bullet into her torso, abandoning her believing she was dead.

The attack reportedly occurred after an argument at home – Christy survived the assault.

In June 2012, Jim received a 25-year prison term following his conviction for both attempted second-degree murder and manslaughter.

Currently, Christy serves as a promoter and has been in a marital relationship with Lisa Holewyne, a past boxing colleague whom she previously competed against in the ring, since 2017. Following the dissolution of her previous marriage, Christy publicly identified herself as a lesbian.

Meanwhile Ben has been married to That ’70s Show star Laura Prepon since June 2018.

2016 marked the start of a romantic connection between Ben and Laura, which culminated in an engagement by the end of that year. The following year, in 2017, their first child, a girl named Ella, was born into their family.

In the subsequent year, these gifted performers exchanged marriage vows formally and eventually became parents to a boy in 2020. The child’s name remains undisclosed at present, as this high-profile duo from Hollywood generally prefer a more secluded existence, despite their public career.

Ben began his acting career as a teenager as he starred in 1996 Disney Channel series Flash Forward.

His first notable role on the big screen was in 1999 Barry Levinson film Liberty Heights.

2002 saw him being part of a star-studded comedy lineup alongside the likes of Tim Allen, Sofia Vergara, Stanley Tucci, Johnny Knoxville, Janeane Garofalo, Zooey Deschanel, and Rene Russo in the movie Big Trouble.

Ben starred as Angel/Warren Worthington in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

Then in 2007 he portrayed cold-blooded killer and outlaw Charlie Prince in 3:10 To Yuma.

2016 saw him take on a notable role when he played the part of the contentious cycling legend Lance Armstrong in the biographical film titled “The Program”.

Additionally, in that same year, he portrayed the character Tanner Howard opposite Chris Pine and Jeff Bridges in Hell Or High Water.

In 2021, he reconnected with director Barry Levinson for the film “The Survivor,” garnering an Emmy Award nomination as a result.
