Emmy Awards hosts announced - and they are the first father/son duo to take the job

As a longtime connoisseur of television and film, I must say that this 75th edition of the Emmy Awards was nothing short of spectacular! From the glitz and glamour to the recognition of outstanding performances, it truly showcased the best of the best in the industry.

The hosts for the Emmy Awards were announced on Friday.

The lucky men are Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy.

The 2024 Emmy Awards will take place at the Peacock Theater located within L.A. Live, in Los Angeles, on September 15, and they will be responsible for hosting it.

The Schitt’s Creek actors are both Emmy winners.

The show will air live on ABC on Sunday, September 15 .

Eugene, 77, and Dan, 41, will be the first father-son duo to ever host the awards show.

In a press release, Eugene and Dan expressed their excitement about the prospect of hosting this year’s event in a real theater, since they had previously won Emmys while quarantining in a tent. This invitation served as a strong motivation for them.

We’re delighted to celebrate this exceptional TV season with everyone, looking forward to spending the evening together!

2024 Emmy Award nominations were disclosed in July, and it looks like “Shogun” and “The Bear” have stolen the show, garnering 25 and 23 nominations each.

The hit TV show “Shogun” that took audiences back to 17th-century Japan received the most Emmy nominations with a total of 25.

In a remarkable feat, the comedy “The Bear” shattered the previous record for most nominations in a single year, racking up an impressive 23 nods. This achievement surpassed the 21 nominations garnered by “Only Murders in the Building.”

In a new twist of words: The drama series “True Detective: Night Country,” featuring Jodie Foster, led in the category for limited or anthology shows, earning a total of 19 nominations.

In my line of work, I keep tabs on the latest comedic offerings, and among them, two standouts that caught my attention were Abbott Elementary, a heartwarming series set in an underfunded Philadelphia school, and HBO’s Hacks, a captivating tale revolving around a seasoned comedienne in her seventies and a talented millennial writer.

The series titled “Baby Reindeer,” which revolves around a bartender pursued by a persistent customer, received a nomination for best limited series, among its 11 total nominations. Creator and lead actor Richard Gadd has stated that the narrative is based on real events; however, a defamation lawsuit contends that the representation of the stalker character is overly dramaticized.

In a lively press gathering held at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Emmy-winning performers Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale announced the list of nominees.

The Emmy Awards are set to be broadcast live on ABC this coming Sunday, September 15th, directly from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. As of now, a host for the event hasn’t been announced.

At the end of the Emmy Nominations presentation, presenter Ralph was taken aback when Cris Abrego revealed his third nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Abbott Elementary, marking the third time she’s been recognized in this category.

This year’s ceremony will take be held less than a year after the 75th edition of the show.

The event was rescheduled from September 2023 to January, as a result of the writers’ and actors’ strikes.

Abrego began by explaining that the nominated shows had been broadcasted from June 2023 to May 2024.

He then introduced Ralph and Hale to the stage.

There were surprising snubs for Kate Winslet (The Regime) and Emma Stone (The Curse).

In my expertise, I’m thrilled to share that the talented trio behind Jesse Collins Entertainment – Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon (Emmy Award winners), and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay (Emmy-nominated) – will be back at the helm for our upcoming projects. They’ve been instrumental in our previous successes, and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table next!
