Emmy A-listers SNUBBED in leaked seating plan that shows legends pushed to the back

2025 Emmy Awards preparations are proceeding smoothly, and seating labels indicate which celebrities will (or won’t) occupy prime positions at the event.

The photographs clearly depict Sydney Sweeney seated among distinguished actors from Hollywood, including Harrison Ford (aged 83), Jude Law (56 years old), Christopher Meloni (64), Sarah Paulson (50), and Sam Rockwell (also 56).

At award shows, the seating is arranged considering multiple aspects, such as a celebrity’s level of participation in the event.

27-year-old Sweeney is scheduled to present at the event, which probably explains her close position near the stage. Her row includes nominees Jason Segel (45), Javier Bardem (56), and presenter Catherine Zeta-Jones (55).

Since Sweeney is presenting at the show, it’s likely she’s sitting close to the stage. Those in her row are nominees Jason Segel, 45, Javier Bardem, 56, and presenter Catherine Zeta-Jones, 55.

Another notable celebrity, Selena Gomez, is anticipated to have increased screen presence, given that her series “Only Murders in the Building” has been nominated for an Emmy Award.

Gomez, aged 33, won’t receive an individual nomination herself, but her fellow actor Martin Short, age 75 (who is nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series), will sit next to her, along with their co-star Steve Martin, now 80, from the same show “OMITB.

Additionally, she’ll enjoy a superior vantage point of the stage compared to Jake Gyllenhaal, known for his past relationship with her friend Taylor Swift, as he is positioned right behind her.

Alongside Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Bella Ramsey, the stars of “Hacks,” Jean Smart, and Hannah Einbinder, you’ll find Jennifer Coolidge, Jenna Ortega, and nominee Quinta Brunson seated in the front row.

Back in 2018, an executive from the Golden Globes shared insights on how they arrange the seating layout for their event in an interview with Elle magazine.

Unlike most other award shows, the Golden Globes stand out due to their seating arrangement. Instead of having all guests seated in rows, celebrities at the Golden Globes are placed at tables close to the stage, allowing them to enjoy the event, sip on drinks, and socialize during the ceremony.

Jorge Camara, head of the HFPA’s board, revealed that a significant number of their seating arrangements are determined based on optimal camera angles.

Just a heads-up! Since this is a TV show, where we film plays an important role. The areas we refer to as ‘the pit,’ which includes tables near the stage, and ‘the first elevation,’ seats visible on camera, are crucial for our broadcast.

The bigger the name, the closer the guest is placed towards the stage.

He noted that it’s important to place the renowned nominees and popular celebrities, those widely recognized and appreciated by the crowd, there. Typically, we aim to have around four to five prominent stars seated together at each table.

For each table, there can be 12 people, which means it could host around 4-5 regular guests, along with an additional person who might be a star, the studio head, or a producer. This is how we typically arrange seating to create an atmosphere where, when the camera pans across the room, you see a crowd filled with celebrities.

The organizing team doesn’t know which nominee will emerge victorious while creating the seating arrangement, and they endeavor to arrange the nominees in a manner that is as fair as possible.

Real-life friendships and drama can also seep into where certain celebrities are placed.

On occasion, they express their preferred seating companions, and other times, they inform us about those they prefer not to sit with, Camara explained.

We strive to cater to that. Once the seating arrangement is finalized by the production company, they ensure that everyone adheres to it during the event, as it plays a crucial role when specific individuals are being filmed on camera. They see to it that everyone remains in the seat allocated to them.

Absolutely, the character a celebrity is portraying can influence the seating arrangement as well. For instance, Tudum published an article about the SAG-AFTRA association, revealing that presenters and nominees often have more convenient access to the stage.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will air this September 14 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Comedy performer Nate Bargatze is set to emcee an upcoming event. The show “Severance” has received the most nominations with a total of 27, while “The Studio” follows closely behind with 23 possible accolades.
