Lisa Riley recently shared details about the thorough beauty routine she follows before attending the 2025 British Soap Awards, an event happening this coming Saturday.

On a whimsical Friday, I, an unabashed fanatic, found myself chuckling over a self-portrait by the beloved Emmerdale actress, aged 48. The image in question was graced by an amusing foam mustache that added a touch of humor to her already radiant visage.

She wrote beside the photo with the caption: “Preparations for tonight’s British Soap Awards on ITV carry on this morning…

Tonight, I took care of my nails, eyebrows (waxed and tinted), and touched up my roots to hide the grays. Today began with a well-deserved focus on my upper lip.

‘Really excited to have a lovely night with all my Emmerdale family.’

Last year’s award ceremony saw Lisa honored alongside other winners, as the Dingle family was declared the Best Family.

The Dingles’ award came as the family celebrated 30 years at the centre of the Emmerdale action.

At the awards ceremony, Lisa was radiantly beautiful in a striking black-and-white ruffled dress featuring a heart-shaped neckline and bell sleeves.

Previously this year, Lisa openly acknowledged that there isn’t a single day when she feels secure from being let go as an actor on the soap opera.

The actress who plays Mandy Dingle on ITV’s soap opera has been in and out of the role since 1995. Openly discussing it, she shared that she and her co-stars always appreciate their roles, given the continuous changes they face in their work.

In my role as a devoted fan, I’ve learned that ITV has recently made changes to the airing schedule for beloved series like Coronation Street and Emmerdale, owing to continuous budget adjustments. Over the past few months, some cast members have chosen to depart, while others have been removed from the storyline.

Discussing the uncertainty of her job, Lisa admitted during an interview that her role in the soap opera could switch anytime, emphasizing that the producers view the cast as if they were pawns on a chessboard, manipulating their futures.

According to her statement to The Mirror, we’re all employed actors on the soap opera, and there isn’t a single day when we don’t feel uncertain about our job security. We’re like pieces moved around on the producer’s chessboard. Whatever they give us, we present it to the audience on screen.

Additionally, it’s essential to anticipate that at some point, a fresh producer may arrive who requires a significant overhaul. Maintaining this level of adaptation is crucial not only for the producers but also for keeping the audience engaged, as they are constantly evolving their expectations.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must admit that I’ve faced my fair share of job uncertainties, but my passion for what I do shines brightest when I’m immersed in the world of daytime soaps. It’s fascinating to see how these shows, often underestimated, put in just as much, if not more, effort than other dramatic productions.

She mentioned: ‘When I’m out and around, folks often share with me: “We adore Emmerdale”. It’s amazing to be a part of it. ITV produces significant dramas that span up to five episodes. We release five segments each week. The hamster wheel just keeps turning.’

Lisa’s discussion regarding episodes arises during significant changes for both Coronation Street and Emmerdale, as the number of episodes has been reduced due to ongoing ITV budget reductions.

For the duration, Emmerdale broadcasted six episodes every week, airing from Monday through Friday, while also offering a double feature on Thursdays.

As a dedicated lifestyle enthusiast, I must mention that Coronation Street, a captivating TV soap opera, broadcasts six engaging episodes weekly. Specifically, it airs two intriguing episodes each on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, ensuring there’s always something exciting to look forward to throughout the week.

Currently, just five 30-minute episodes of each series are being aired, which represents a 17% reduction in the actual duration of soap operas on television.

Managers have scheduled a dedicated hour for soap operas every weekday, starting at 8 PM. During this hour, you can enjoy 30-minute episodes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street at 8 PM and 8:30 PM respectively.

However, each episode will continue to drop at 7am on ITVX before transmission that same evening.
