Emmerdale star Sammy Winward’s daughter Mia, 20, reveals she’s pregnant with her first child and hasn’t told her parents – after two-year estrangement since she launched OnlyFans career

Sammy Winward, known for her role on Emmerdale, has a daughter, Mia Winward-Dunn, who recently revealed she’s expecting her first baby.

She hasn’t shared the news with her famous mother, as they’ve been estranged for two years. The rift began when Sammy became upset about her mother’s work on OnlyFans.

But she admits the occasion is ‘bittersweet’ due to her family estrangement.

Mia’s parents are actress Sammy and former footballer David Dunn, aged 46. They reportedly ended their relationship with her in the summer of 2024 due to her work on OnlyFans.

Mia explained that she hadn’t spoken to her parents yet, and they didn’t have her current contact information.

Being pregnant makes me feel extra sensitive, and I’m hoping to avoid any major drama or stress right now.

Mia has expressed a desire to repair her relationship with her parents. She remembers her father using a highly offensive slur when he discovered she was working on an adult website, and he ended their conversation abruptly when she tried to reach out to him.

Now that she was pregnant, she realized she needed to talk to her baby – she couldn’t imagine staying silent.

Mia says she has no regrets about her time on OnlyFans, describing it as a period where she enjoyed traveling the world and working with great people – calling it the best year or two of her life.

She says she still keeps in touch with one family member, but she wouldn’t reveal who it is.

Offering a positive sign, Mia shared that she’s longing to spend quality time with her mother, specifically dreaming of shopping for baby clothes together.

But she said: ‘There’s a lot to forgive and that process hasn’t even started yet.’ 

Last June, Mia publicly revealed she felt emotionally neglected by her mother, following a separation from her parents.

Mia described feeling isolated and restricted growing up, explaining that her mother, Sammy, was often away filming Emmerdale, sometimes only having as little as 10 minutes with her each day.

She began to cry as she explained her unusual upbringing: she was raised by a teenage soap opera actress. While she had plenty of possessions, she felt deeply emotionally neglected.

I frequently felt isolated, bullied, and like my life was being micromanaged – from my clothing choices to how I spoke around others, and I especially lacked encouragement and support.

Sometimes her decisions, especially in relationships, worried me, and I often felt overwhelmed by the responsibility it created.

Mia feels her mother is being a hypocrite by criticizing her OnlyFans work, considering her mother used to pose for men’s magazines when she was a popular actress.

She expressed her confusion and hurt, asking how someone could be so judgmental. She pointed out that the other person had been comfortable with nudity at a younger age, yet now completely rejected her from their life.

During the interview, Mia explained that she was mostly raised by her grandmother because her mother wasn’t around.

She also mentioned her parents divorced when she was a child, and she got to know several of Sammy’s future partners. She recalled one of them shouting at her when she was only four years old.

You know, I’ve seen this situation play out a lot – a teen feeling stifled and wanting independence. Well, Mia shared her story with me, and it really resonated. When she turned sixteen, she’d had enough of feeling controlled by her mom. It was a big step, but she decided to move in with her dad, even though they hadn’t been close for years. It was all about finding a space where she could truly be herself.

Mia shared last year that she left the UK and used money earned from OnlyFans to purchase her first home in Mexico.
