Emmerdale star Georgia Jay has revealed she secretly gave birth to her first child over the summer.

The actress, known for her role as Steph Milligan on the ITV soap, shared that she gave birth to a daughter named Nora in June. She posted a photo with her baby on New Year’s Eve.

Georgia shared in June that she was pregnant, and recently announced she’d given birth just a few weeks later.

The actress quickly received a lot of supportive comments online, including one from Beth Cordingly, who plays her mother on the show Emmerdale. Cordingly wrote, ‘You are perfect and so is she. Love you!’

Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt, congratulated someone, writing ‘Yay congrats gorgeous’ and adding three heart emojis.

Georgia revealed she was expecting a baby on Instagram in June, starting her announcement with, ‘As you’ve likely figured out, I have some exciting news to share!’

The character Steph, played by Georgia, was temporarily written off the show in August when the actress began her maternity leave.

This news follows reports that Joe Absolom, who played the villainous Ray Walters, has left the show. He’s departing along with Jaye Griffiths, who played his equally evil mother on screen.

The 47-year-old actor, who recently appeared in a particularly dramatic storyline on the ITV show, has reportedly finished filming his last episodes.

Joe and his mother, Celia Daniels, a farmer, were involved in a number of serious crimes. These included drug dealing, prostitution, and forcing people into slavery.

Although many hoped Ray would turn over a new leaf after developing feelings for Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), he’ll be leaving the village soon, with his departure happening before the major crossover event with Coronation Street.

According to a source, show executives always anticipated Joe’s time on the show would be limited, but they feel they got a lot out of having someone with his talent and experience.

Joe is most famous for playing Matthew Rose on EastEnders, a role that won him awards and involved his character being wrongly accused of Saskia Duncan’s murder. He is a London native.

Jaye, 62, has also reportedly finished filming her scenes, and her character will exit the show leaving behind a trail of ‘chaos and secrets’.

According to a source, Jaye enjoyed her time on Emmerdale, but she always expected her character, Celia, wouldn’t be on the show for very long.

‘She must be seen to get her comeuppance and that’s what is going to happen – one way or another.

Even though Celia is finished, her influence and hidden truths will continue to create problems and disruption for a long time to come.

Jaye explained that she always knew her time on the show would end, and while she was upset about leaving – saying she’d happily stay indefinitely – she felt her character had a satisfying conclusion.

Sometimes, while reading the script, I’m surprised by the lines I have to deliver – I think, ‘Are they really making me say this?’ Just when I think the character has reached her limit, they push her even further! It’s definitely challenging and quite difficult.

I just need people to start talking about it, you know? I dream of a world where even just walking into a nail salon makes you… think. Just a little question popping into your head, that’s all I ask. It would be amazing if it just… registered with everyone.

I wonder, does anyone ever ask car wash employees for their passport? It seems like a strange question to ask at a car wash.

It’s tough knowing how to help in situations like that. I even asked a police officer for advice, and he admitted he didn’t have an answer.

Despite playing such an evil character, she has had plenty of love and support from fans.

Jaye mentioned that people often stop him on the street to express their admiration for Celia, but he doubts that enthusiasm will continue for long.

I don’t think this will last long, and I want to clarify that it’s all just for show. I’m a genuinely good person, and I definitely don’t have any antisocial tendencies. I’m expecting to receive some negative reactions because of it, though.
