Actress Georgia Jay, a well-known figure on Emmerdale, has shared the joyous news that she’s expecting her first baby. Eagle-eyed viewers have noticed a baby bump in some of her more recent appearances.

On Monday, the actress, who is now 33 years old and debuted on the soap opera a year ago playing the role of Steph Miligan, announced some joyful news on Instagram.

Over the past few weeks, viewers of Emmerdale have been discussing the possibility that Georgia’s character might be pregnant, as she has been dressed in clothing larger than usual on the show.

In the year 2015, I stepped into the role of Jennifer in the amusing yet terrifying mash-up titled “Lake Placid vs Anaconda”. This intriguing production was a blend of the popular horror films, Anaconda and Lake Placid.

In the movie, Georgia portrays Stephanie, who, along with a band of other females, dashes through a woodland in swimwear (specifically a bikini) to evade a colossal anaconda.

The film also starred Corin Nemec, Yancy Butler, Skye Lourie and Robert Englund.

The 90-minute flick didn’t receive the best reception, scoring just 21 out 100 on Rotten Tomatoes.

It also only managed to reach 14 per cent on the film rating websites ‘Popcornmeter’. 

Some critics labeled it as a “television-style movie for cable networks,” while others expressed their displeasure by stating that even its computer-generated imagery falls short, with particular emphasis on its poor quality.

Georgia also worked on a few roles before Emmerdale, such as portraying Diane Vickers in the 2019 BBC drama series Giri/Haji during its single-season run.

In addition, she appeared in supporting roles for shows titled Glow and Darkness during the year 2021, and in a production called The Devil Sits on Both Shoulders back in 2018.
