Emma Willis Reveals Hidden Heart Condition
Davina McCall expressed her well-wishes to Emma Willis, her co-host on Big Brother, following her recent heart surgery.
On a recent Wednesday, Emma, aged 48, shared on Instagram that she had undergone minimally invasive surgery due to an unidentified heart condition she had been dealing with.
The television host shared that she was completely unaware of having a hole in her heart throughout her entire life, and she confessed that she was taken aback when she learned about the condition occurring within her body.
Hurrying to express her affection towards the star, Davina wrote: ‘Wow!!!!!! What an astonishment !!! Keeping you in my thoughts and sending you enormous healing embraces 💕💕💕’.
In a surprising turn of events, I recently found myself grappling with an unexpected health concern – a stark reminder of the importance of prioritizing wellness. Just a few short weeks ago, my colleague Davina shared the fantastic news that she had received the green light following her brave battle against brain tumor.
Just a few weeks back, I experienced an unexpected health hiccup, serving as a stark reminder of the significance of self-care and wellness. Not long ago, my esteemed colleague Davina triumphantly announced that she had overcome her brain tumor battle.
In November, the television host, who is 57 years old, revealed that she had been diagnosed with a seldom-occurring, non-cancerous brain tumor known as a colloid cyst.

On November 15th, she underwent a six-hour surgical procedure to excise a 14mm colloid cyst found in her brain, following a routine health examination that revealed a potential growth.
Davina recently underwent an MRI scan, and she subsequently shared remarkable “before-and-after” images from the test. What was stunning in these pictures was that the tumor, which had previously been present in her brain, was no longer visible.
Davina wasn’t alone in expressing her support for Emma on Big Brother, as Kate Lawler also chimed in, saying: “Impressive job, Emma! I’m thrilled to know you’re alright.
Meanwhile Judi Love wote: ‘Oh we give thanks that you had a great team and recovering hun xx’.
Giovanni Fletcher expressed: ‘I love you, honey! You have the strongest heart – even with that gap. Just think about how strong your heart is now, after those amazing legends have mended it! Hugs and kisses!’
1. Olly Murs expressed: “Aww, whew Emma! It’s great that you’re alright!” and Jools Oliver replied: “Sending tons of love; I’m relieved everything’s okay ❤️❤️. By the way, I also am under the care of Dr. Alex Lyons – he’s amazing! Big hugs xxx.”
2. Olly Murs said: “Gosh, Emma! I’m glad you’re okay!” and Jools Oliver responded: “Sending loads of love; thankful that everything is fine ❤️❤️. Coincidentally, I am also seeing Dr. Alex Lyons – he’s fantastic! Lots of warm hugs xxx.”
3. Olly Murs wrote: “Whew Emma, I’m relieved you’re okay!” and Jools Oliver replied: “Sending loads of love; everything is looking good ❤️❤️. Notably, I am also being treated by Dr. Alex Lyons – he’s fantastic! Lots of warm hugs xxx.”
4. Olly Murs said: “Phew Emma, it’s great that you’re safe!” and Jools Oliver replied: “Sending tons of love; I’m glad everything is okay ❤️❤️. To add, I am also under the care of Dr. Alex Lyons – he’s a gem! Lots of warm hugs xxx.”
5. Olly Murs expressed: “Gosh Emma, I’m relieved you’re unscathed!” and Jools Oliver replied: “Sending loads of love; it’s good that everything is okay ❤️❤️. By the way, I am also seeing Dr. Alex Lyons – he’s a star! Lots of warm hugs xxx.”
On Wednesday, Emma, wife of Busted band member Matt Willis, confessed that she was taken aback when she learned about changes within her own body.
As it turns out, I’ve been going about my life for 48 years without realizing I had a hidden defect in my heart. It’s amazing the things our bodies keep from us, isn’t it? This is what I shared with my Instagram followers.

I’m utterly amazed by the miracles of contemporary medicine and the extraordinary individuals who tirelessly work to heal, mend, and assist us daily. It’s simply awe-inspiring!
A more conversational rephrasing could be: “Septal defects is the medical term used to describe an opening or hole that exists between two of the heart’s chambers.
An atrial septal defect is a birth-related heart issue where an opening exists between two upper chambers of the heart, and its exact cause remains undetermined as per the National Health Service (NHS).
In simpler terms, an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) refers to a hole found between the two upper chambers of the heart known as the left and right atria. This opening allows some blood to unintentionally flow through it into the right side of the heart, leading to its expansion due to excess pressure or volume.
Individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) might exhibit subtle signs, but they are at a higher risk for recurring respiratory infections. These infections may sometimes lead to shortness of breath and even produce an audible heart murmur.
A ventricular septal defect, or VSD, is a frequently encountered type of birth-related heart condition. This happens due to an opening between the two main working chambers of the heart, specifically the left and right ventricles.
In simpler terms, this explains that additional blood moves via the opening, from the left ventricle towards the right ventricle because of the pressure disparity between them. This excess blood is directed to the lungs, which results in increased lung pressure and stretching of the left-side heart chamber responsible for pumping.
Small holes often eventually close by themselves, but larger holes need to be closed using surgery.

Previously, Emma, the former Big Brother host, informed her followers that she underwent a surgical procedure at the Royal Brompton Hospital located in London.
As an ardent supporter of advancements in medical procedures, I’d like to share some insights about keyhole heart surgery. Unlike traditional open-heart surgery where a large incision is made on the breastbone, keyhole heart surgery employs smaller cuts on the chest instead.
Through the cuts made, the surgeon reaches the heart, enabling a minimally intrusive method that reduces potential issues and hastens the healing process.
In her extended message, Emma expressed gratitude towards her partner Matt and the dedicated team at Royal Brompton Hospital for their exceptional care they provided her with.
Emma and Matt have been a couple for over two decades, and during that time they’ve welcomed three kids: Isabelle who is 15, Ace at 13, and Trixie, the youngest at eight years old.
In 2008, they got married and are now preparing for their 20th wedding anniversary. However, they’ve faced some challenges throughout their marriage, among which was Matt’s battle with substance abuse involving drugs and alcohol.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always advocated for open communication and understanding in long-term relationships, much like the journey that Matt, former Busted star, and his partner Emma have embarked upon. In his own words, he shared with TopMob how couples therapy has been instrumental in helping them navigate through their decades-long relationship’s challenges, ultimately leading to a stronger bond.
In the year 2020, we embarked on marriage counseling, and initially, my partner Emma hesitated, but now she’s grateful for our decision as it has significantly improved and transformed our marriage.
