Emma Willis breaks down in tears and leaves Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo misty-eyed as she praises husband Matt for being a ‘f***ing phenomenal’ father to their children
As I delve into the heartwarming story of Matt and Emma Willis, I am deeply moved by their journey, a testament to love, resilience, and the power of healing. Their tale is a beautiful reminder that relationships, like fine wine, mature and become stronger over time.
On Monday, Emma Willis couldn’t hold back her tears as she praised her husband Matt for being an amazing father during their appearance on The Newlyweds Podcast.
In 2008, the presenter (age 48) married the Busted singer (age 41), and together they have three kids: Isabelle (age 15), Ace (age 12), and Trixie, who is eight years old.
On their most recent podcast episode, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, a married couple, shared a joint appearance. They talked about the origins of their romance and shared insights into their almost 20-year long relationship, shedding light on various aspects of it.
At a certain moment, Emma’s feelings became clearly evident, causing Jamie, Sophie, and Matt to weep as she shared her thoughts on having kids.
Following Jamie’s admission of his apprehension over beginning a family, the talk show host responded by saying, “You’re somewhat like Matt in my opinion. Despite not having much familiarity with you, you appear to be quite the enthusiastic pup.”
As a devoted fan, I can attest that once Matt became a father, it was as if his dearest friend had suddenly materialized into his life. The moment we welcomed our little ones, the bond between us deepened in ways I could never have imagined. It’s been an incredible journey watching him navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood, and I couldn’t be more proud to witness this beautiful transformation unfolding before my eyes.
He functions as both my partner and an equal, often resembling a fourth child to me – a comparison made affectionately, given he exhibits similar behavior around his children.
Emma found herself becoming emotional and tearful as she said, “He genuinely interacts at their level and he’s absolutely amazing with them.”
She reached over to Matt, who looked close to tears himself, and added: ‘Honestly, it’ll make you the best version of yourself.’
In a similar manner, both Jamie and Sophie showed signs of being deeply affected. Jamie’s eyes filled with tears as he questioned, “What’s causing this emotion in me? What’s making you feel emotional too?”, and Sophie replied, “I can clearly see goosebumps on my skin!”
In an attempt to bring some humor into the situation, Emma playfully remarked, “Or else you might explode!”, and Matt responded with a somewhat strong comment, “It’s a huge challenge.”
Emma continued: ‘And it’s tough, but the best possible tough. The one thing you want tough for.’
Matt continued by saying: I view my children as the finest blend of us two. There are times when I notice some less favorable traits, but more often than not, I recognize aspects of both our best qualities in them. Therefore, they truly are remarkable.’
To put your mind at ease, let me tell you, you’re going to adore it, I assure you. In fact, my children absolutely adore you.
Emma and Matt have teamed up lately because they’re the joint presenters of the British adaptation of the popular Netflix dating series, Love Is Blind.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t help but express my admiration for my partner of 16 years. Her dedication and expertise are truly unparalleled in her field. To put it simply, she’s simply remarkable at what she does.
In a conversation with Principle Magazine, the drummer expressed that reuniting with Emma on a professional level reminded him of his ongoing affection for her company.
He explained: ‘Working with Emma is so great, because it’s easy, you know? I was really nervous about it because I’m not a TV presenter. She’s just like, “Just be yourself.” I’m like, “How the f*** do I do that?”
However, I have a trustworthy companion by my side, who is absolutely exceptional in her field. Therefore, I will simply follow her lead.
He continued: ‘I’ve been with her pretty much half my life. When work and kids and stuff get in the way, you kind of forget sometimes that “Oh, I really f*****g still love you.”
As someone who has been in love before, I understand the importance of expressing one’s feelings clearly and sincerely. It seems that you might be struggling to communicate your affection effectively, which is something I can empathize with. In my past relationships, I have learned that it’s essential to make the other person feel special and desired. So, if you truly care for this individual and wish to spend more time with them, consider expressing it explicitly. Saying something like, “I really appreciate our connection and value our time together. I would love to hang out with you more often because I genuinely enjoy being around you,” can go a long way in showing your feelings. It’s never too late to make someone feel loved and cherished.
Prior to Emma, I had gone out with a handful of people casually, but Emma marked my first genuine relationship. As such, I’m rather inexperienced when it comes to the dating scene. From what I gather, it can be quite challenging.
Matt was just 22 when he began dating Emma, then 29, in 2005 and the two married three years later.
The pair has been transparent about Matt’s previous battles with substance abuse, and they aired the BBC documentary “Matt Willis: Overcoming Addiction” last year.
Later on, Matt confessed that Emma initially showed hesitation towards participating in the documentary, expressing: ‘In truth, I had to persuade her quite strongly to join.’
He added: ‘It’s a part [of addiction] that doesn’t get talked about – the effect it has on people around you’, as Emma explained that revisiting Matt’s battle had been hard, but also ‘incredibly cathartic’.
She mentioned that revisiting that stage in our life was challenging, yet discussing those difficult times served as a powerful release for her.
As a passionate devotee, I’d like to share this insight: We’re all flawed individuals, yet there’s no need to conceal our imperfections to earn affection. In the grand scheme of things, it’s our unwavering love and tireless efforts that have propelled us forward to where we stand today.
In November, Matt shared with The Mirror that following the airing of the documentary, numerous individuals contacted him about individuals they cared deeply for.
He said: That was the thing I got the most, messages from loved ones saying “Thank you for putting that bit in”. It was such an integral part to involve Emma in it.’
Matt became well-known in the year 2000, when he was part of the three-member pop-punk group Busted, which also included James Bourne and Charlie Simpson.
In 2005, they parted ways, but later teamed up with another famous English band, McFly, to create the super group McBusted. After that, they regrouped as Busted once more in 2015 and marked their 20-year anniversary with a tour last year.
