Emma Watson enjoys holiday with handsome man days after denying she is engaged to Kieran Brown – as she brushes off JK Rowling’s comments about her ‘ignorance’ regarding trans rights

Emma Watson appeared relaxed and happy while photographed with a man in Pisa on Friday, following reports that she isn’t engaged to her boyfriend, Kieran Brown.

I was so happy to see her looking so relaxed and joyful while in Italy! She and her partner were photographed near the Leaning Tower of Pisa just days after J.K. Rowling publicly criticized her, claiming she didn’t understand the issues surrounding trans rights. It’s wonderful to see her thriving despite all the negativity.

Oh my gosh, I was *obsessed* with what Emma was wearing today! It was this amazing Frame X Ritz jumper, so cozy looking, paired with leggings – perfect for a day out! And she had this adorable crossbody bag. She was with someone, but honestly, I couldn’t take my eyes off her outfit! They were standing really close, but all I noticed was how good she looked.

Her phd student boyfriend Kieran was not with her on the day.

They met while she was pursuing her master’s degree in creative writing at Oxford University, and their first public photos together were taken in July 2024.

Last month on The Jay Shetty Podcast, Emma clarified that she’s not engaged and won’t rush into marriage just because society expects it.

Emma, known for her strong views on the pressures women face to get married – which she’s called ‘violence and cruelty’ – sparked engagement rumors when she was seen wearing a noticeable vintage ring on her left hand at a Miu Miu fashion show in Paris.

After everything I’ve been through over the past seven years, I felt like I’d finally reached a good place and wanted to celebrate how far I’ve come since leaving everything behind.

I celebrated with my close friends and family, and they all surprised me with matching rings. Each ring has 22 petals, and everyone got one!

She explained that the item was incredibly meaningful to her, representing the life she had worked hard to create – a life centered around her community, heritage, and faith. She’d never owned anything so valuable because of what it symbolized to her.

It’s strange, but despite not having traditional markers of success – I haven’t even finished college yet, and this one-person play is the only thing I’ve really accomplished – it feels like I’ve reached my personal goals.

Emma shared that she’s relieved to still be married, acknowledging it might sound pessimistic. However, she feels they’re being pushed into something she views as a positive and unexpected development.

I’m not sure I deserve it, but I hope it comes my way. I don’t expect it, though. If it’s meant to be, it will happen; if not, then it wasn’t part of my path.

I dislike how we approach this with so many expectations and a rigid timeline. It feels less about genuine connection and more about checking off boxes, which is incredibly unromantic.

Looking back, I realize I wasn’t ready for marriage at any point before about a year ago. I simply hadn’t figured out who I was yet, or what I wanted to achieve in life. I hadn’t discovered my purpose or how I wanted to make a difference.

I used to feel lost about what I wanted in life, but I’m starting to figure things out. Now, when I meet new people, I can confidently introduce myself and share what’s important to me – like, ‘Hi, I’m Emma, and these are my passions.’

She expressed her belief that pressuring people – particularly young people and women – to have children is harmful and cruel. She feels it devalues them and suggests a failure if they haven’t, arguing that having children should never be forced.

I’ve really had to work hard to get to a point where I feel confident enough to tell people who I am and have a sense of what I want out of life, even though that sense will continue to evolve.

In the same interview, the actress clarified that while she publicly supports the rights of transgender people, she still doesn’t oppose JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, who is 60 years old.

She explained that despite her past experiences, beliefs, and the love and support she’s received, she still deeply values Jo and the person she knew personally.

JK Rowling delivered a rare and harsh criticism of Emma Watson, suggesting she doesn’t realize how uninformed she is.

She explained that the actress’s public disagreement with her views had worsened the abuse she was already experiencing, making the situation even more heated.

Honestly, I was *shocked* when I read that Emma Watson said she still admired her! It’s just… unbelievable. To think she’d try to be friendly with someone who’s constantly surrounded by people wishing harm on others – it’s like she’s trying to get on their good side, and it’s really disturbing. I just don’t understand how she can ‘treasure’ someone like that when they’re openly encouraging violence against people close to her. It feels like a total betrayal of everything Emma stands for!

Rowling has publicly stated she will ‘never forgive’ Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint, her co-stars from the Harry Potter films, because they have supported a movement she believes undermines the rights of women.

But she has never previously made such a personal criticism of the woman she made famous.

Two weeks ago, Rowling stated that the three individuals were entitled to their beliefs about gender identity, but she criticized them for using their connection to Harry Potter to represent a viewpoint she disagreed with, claiming they were speaking for her fictional world without her consent.

She then attacked Emma, claiming her opinions on transgender rights stemmed from a lack of life experience.

The actress recently explained her driving ban by saying that becoming famous at a young age hindered her ability to learn everyday life skills, like driving.

Rowling expressed strong frustration, stating she didn’t become wealthy as a teenager. She emphasized she was actually struggling financially while writing the book that brought Emma Watson fame.

Having lived my own life, I now understand the real impact of Emma’s actions against women’s rights, especially for those who don’t have the same advantages she does.

She argued that Ms. Watson’s recent statement about still valuing their relationship was a calculated move to soften her position, after recognizing that strongly criticizing her isn’t as popular as it used to be.
