Overview
- A weak buffer that sees massive upgrades when allied with Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade.
- No cooldown on either her or Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade means an off-burst cooldown unit has to team up with them.
- Emma is very mediocre on her own, and is prone to dying because of her perma-taunt without Eunhwa.
- With all the synergizing buffs all members of Absolute have, especially to Vesti: Tactical Upgrade, they could be considered the series’ first ‘trio’ unit.
- Taunt when used by herself could see use in PvP, testing needed.
Newbie/Incomplete Box Section
Emma’s Tactical Upgrade is a Fire Supporter, categorized as B1 and offering support for 20 seconds, that works synergistically with Eunhwa’s Tactical Upgrade. Together, they offer substantial boosts to damage output, particularly benefiting Vesti’s Tactical Upgrade.
Emma: Tactical Upgrade performs rather average without her partner, as the key aspects of her S1 skill aren’t continuously active, leading to her burst damage not consistently reaching its full potential. In single player (PvE) situations, using her permanent taunt on her own can often lead to her being harmed more frequently than protected. Many powerful effects from her S2 are also contingent on having Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade on the same team.
With Eunhwa included, the pair still faces a challenge: they don’t have a cool-down period, so an off-burst cooldown character must be part of their team to facilitate smooth burst sequences. This was more significant in the past, but it’s still worth considering now.

Skill 1: Environment Setup
Function: The device emits a spray solution to modify the combat area favorably.
Effect 1: Enemies suffer an increased damage of approximately 3.9% for a duration of 10 seconds.
Effect 1 Target(s): All adversaries, including those that emerge during the environmental setup process.
Effect 2: Over a period of 10 seconds, all allies will gradually regain 2.32% of the caster’s maximum health every second.
Recurring interval: 30 sec
Triggers as soon as an enemy comes into sight. Its unique characteristic keeps it active on the user.
Description (Cannot be dispelled)
Effect: Draw Attention: Taunts all enemies persistently.
Whenever Emma steps into the field, she triggers two positive abilities that last for 10 seconds. Firstly, she boosts the damage enemies sustain slightly, and secondly, she restores some of her remaining health to her allies. However, these effects can only occur once every 30 seconds when Emma is alone, making this skill infrequently usable. Additionally, the benefits provided by the skill are relatively modest on their own.
When the fight begins, Emma’s ability is activated, drawing all enemies towards her continually until she perishes. This trait, as Tia’s users know, is extremely challenging to manage, and unlike Tia, Emma doesn’t possess a means to halt or regulate this effect independently. In PvE, it could lead to her untimely demise. It’s important to mention that this effect can also occur in PvP situations. Whether it has potential benefits, especially with Rosanna, remains to be seen.
Instead of just verifying the presence of enemies upon activation like other effects do, Emma’s Damage Taken Debuff consistently scans for incoming enemies during its active period. As a result, newer waves of enemies won’t be able to evade the debuff’s damage effect as they would with Blanc’s burst, since it is continuously monitoring and affecting them.
Skill 2: LT Formation
Function: Provides a tactical advantage, boosting damage for allies from the same squad by 23.51% continuously.
Additional effect: Enhances the damage of projectile explosions for all allies by 2.32% continuously.
When utilizing AS Formation on yourself, the following benefits are activated:
1. Enhances damage dealt by all allies by 30.97% consistently.
2. Boosts projectile explosion damage inflicted on enemies by all allies by 3.09% continuously.
3. Disables self-exposure activation permanently.
4. Speeds up the recurring interval for Environment Setup by 20 seconds for yourself, continuously.
As a dedicated fan, I’d like to clarify that Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade’s powerful second skill is called “AS Formation.” Interestingly, this skill doesn’t activate its unique effects unless Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade has been blessed with the LT Formation buffs.
On its own, LT Formation is quite feeble. Emma boosts the critical damage solely for members within her own squad, meaning only Nikkes that belong to Absolute can benefit from this enhancement. Additionally, she amplifies the damage caused by explosions resulting from projectiles. This encompasses both rockets fired from a rocket launcher and Rapi: Red Hood’s detachable projectiles when they explode.
When Emma: Tactical Upgrade and Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade are on the same team, their abilities significantly enhance due to synergy in Formation. Emma’s role is particularly noteworthy as she consistently boosts true damage for allies, increases the enhanced explosion damage from LT Formation even more, and greatly amplifies her Environment Setup Skill.
The Environmental Setup Skill, usually with a 20-second interval between healing allies and debuffing enemy damage, now has a reduced interval of just 10 seconds. This effectively makes these effects perpetual until Emma is incapacitated. Additionally, Emma no longer continually taunts all enemies when a boss appears, thereby improving her survivability and overall utility.
Burst: Battlefield Formation
Cooldown: 20s
Modifies all allies’ attack by increasing it by 40.07% of the caster’s attack for a duration of 10 seconds. However, this effect only applies to the caster if they are in an Environment Setup status. This ability also serves to improve the Environment Setup.
Effect 1 Translation: The damage that enemies take from the Environment Setup is doubled.
This means that the amount of damage each enemy takes due to the Environment Setup will be increased by a factor of 2, making it more potent against them.
Effect 2: Potency of HP restored ▲29.04%.
Effect 2 Target(s): All allies
Initially, Emma boosts the attacking power of her allies with a moderate enhancement. As it’s a caster attack buff, its effectiveness grows with additional copies and higher base attack.
Additionally, she triggers extra effects when her own Environment Setup (S1) buff is active. At this point, she amplifies the damage enemies take from debuffs and boosts the healing allies receive from all healing abilities, including her Environmental Setup skill.
Because the subsequent effects occur only when Emma’s ability (S1) is activated, it becomes significantly more challenging to utilize them when Emma is alone, as the effect only persists for 10 seconds and has a 30-second interval (20 seconds of downtime). However, with Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade, Emma’s S1 is constantly active, eliminating the need to coordinate the effect with her burst.
Campaign
When working alone, Emma’s selection for the campaign could be considered average; on her own, her S1 abilities lack frequent activation, and her S1 and S2 skills don’t offer much benefit to others.
With Eunhwa and the Tactical Upgrade on the team, there’s a significant enhancement in their skill sets, however, due to the lack of cooldown, it can be challenging to utilize them effectively without an off-burst cooldown character. In such situations, your primary damage dealers would ideally be true damage dealers like Vesti: Tactical Upgrade, as they offer the most significant benefits when combined with other buffs. This makes their use more justifiable over other buffer characters since this is their main advantage.
If not buffing true damage, there are likely going to be better options available for PvE.
Arena
As a dedicated fan of Emma: Tactical Upgrade, I find the constant healing, debuffing, and buffing during burst combat to be quite advantageous in PvP scenarios. However, being a Master Guardian (MG), I must admit that PvP can sometimes feel like an unforgiving environment for my beloved Emma.
As an ardent admirer of Emma, I’ve been pondering about the potential tactical advantage she offers in Player vs Player (PvP) scenarios. Particularly intriguing is the Tactical Upgrade ability, which, when applied to her alone, triggers a permanent taunt at the onset. It’s an exciting prospect that demands thorough testing to ascertain its worth.
Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid
Based on the current state of affairs, Eunhwa: Tactical Upgrade and Vesti: Tactical Upgrade haven’t been released yet, hence they can’t be thoroughly evaluated at this time. Particularly, we’re unable to compare Vesti’s personal DPS against Indivilia or other bosses with detachable parts. The effectiveness of Vesti’s S2 skill proc will significantly influence the strength of the Absolute team in defeating Indivilia. If the proc works favorably, the Absolute team could prove to be highly effective; otherwise, it might not be a viable option.
In isolation, Emma: Tactical Upgrade isn’t particularly recommended compared to the existing B1 units due to her absence of a cooldown period, which significantly reduces her output.
Strengths
- Both Emma and Eunhwa combine to provide substantial buffs, debuffs and utility, especially to true damage.
- Constant healing to allies, damage taken debuff to enemies and buffs in general when combined with both her and Eunhwa’s burst gives the team a lot of damage and survivability.
- Always warm, hug her to keep warm.
- Sexy, and has a really cool gun!
Weaknesses
- Is incredibly mediocre on her own, since Eunhwa:TU enables a lot of her own passives. Her S1 uptime is so low by herself!
- The permanent taunt she outputs when the battle starts, when she is by herself, will get her killed more often than not.
- No cooldown on either her nor Eunhwa:TU means an off-burst source of cooldown is needed.
- Tactical Upgrade didn’t upgrade her cooking…
Rating
In a setting other than the Arena, Eunhwa’s rating indicates a Tactical Enhancement. However, it’s seldom beneficial to utilize Emma with this Tactical Enhancement in Player vs Environment (PvE) content independently.

This collection is thought to be the top teams for the overall Absolute squad. Each team member can’t be evaluated separately, particularly Emma, as she stands out as the least exceptional when assessed individually compared to the other enhanced Absolute members.
As a fan, I’d express it like this: Emma and Eunhwa are my go-to allies when it comes to boosting our team’s true damage output. On the other hand, Vesti takes some time to charge up his abilities, so in situations where we need maximum true damage, he benefits greatly from having his charge time reduced by Alice (or Mana!). Alternatively, for the best true damage potential in our team, we can buff Ein alongside Vesti with the Absolute team’s bonus.
Doll Priority
For small-scale support dolls like Emma’s, it’s advisable against deploying the Tactical Upgrade feature.
Excess energy could mildly amplify the boost of her attack’s enhancement and offer a significant Damage Per Second (DPS) improvement for Mastery Grade (MG) characters, but it’s advisable to avoid over-enhancing this feature for Emma, since she primarily serves a supporting role rather than being the main DPS character.
Expected Skill Priority
| Nikke | Budget Skill Investments | Recommended Skill Investments | Skill Priority | Notes | Investment Priority |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emma: Tactical Upgrade | Skill 1: 4 Skill 2: 7 Burst: 4 | Skill 1: 7 Skill 2: 10 Burst: 7 | S1 < S2 | Skill 1’s values have low numbers even with a lot of investment, so it is recommended to keep this skill at what you can afford. Skill 2 provides a big true damage buff when combined with Eunhwa’s true damage buff that will empower both Eunhwa and Vesti. Since she will mainly work with her own squad, it is recommended to invest in S2 if using the team. Burst provides a decent buff and improves her S1’s effects. The debuff will always double regardless of burst level, so investing more in it only improves the heals and caster ATK buff. | Medium |
