Emma Stone’s sci-fi remake Bugonia has confirmed its first UK screening.
The movie, titled “Save the Green Planet!”, marks the fourth time that director Yorgos Lanthimos has worked with actor Stone, following their collaborations on “The Favourite”, “Poor Things”, and “Kinds of Kindness”. This partnership is based on the 2003 South Korean satire by Jang Joon-hwan.
The movie centers around two individuals abducting a potent CEO, as they suspect her to be an extraterrestrial emissary, sent with the mission to annihilate Earth.

In this film, the roles are taken by newcomer Aidan Delbis and Jesse Plemons from “Killers of the Flower Moon,” who previously collaborated with Lanthimos on “Kinds of Kindness.” Additionally, comedian Stavros Halkias and Alicia Silverstone, known for her role in “Batman & Robin” and appearing in Lanthimos’ “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” are also part of the cast.
Next month, the movie is set to premiere in the UK for the first time at the BFI London Film Festival. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, September 16th, starting at 10am. If you’re a member of the BFI, you can secure your tickets a few days earlier, starting on September 9th. Patrons will have an even earlier opportunity, with access beginning on September 8th.

As an excited fan, I’m thrilled to share that the early screenings for the captivating film “Bugonia” in London are scheduled! Here are the dates: On a Friday night (10th October) at 9.10pm, on Saturday the 11th October bright and early at 11am, and then on another Friday (17th October) at 3.10pm. Don’t miss out!
The cost of the tickets begins at £10, but individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 have an opportunity to join a complimentary program, allowing them to purchase tickets for only £6 instead.
Across the United Kingdom, the festival is being held once more in various cities after London, including Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Belfast, where they will showcase films from the principal program. Moviegoers are advised to verify details such as specific showtimes and ticket costs at their local venue.

Following its debut at the Venice Film Festival a month ago, Lanthimos’ latest movie has been receiving exceptional initial critiques, currently boasting an impressive 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 33 reviews thus far.
As a fervent admirer, I’d express it like this:
Stone and Plemons’ performances left me spellbound, according to Variety, who described their act as a captivating duel. The Daily Telegraph also praised Lanthimos for masterfully squeezing every ounce of comic tension from the film. Little White Lies added that the movie turned out to be unexpectedly moving.
Bugonia is set to be showcased at the BFI London Film Festival in London, as well as various locations across the UK, in October before it hits cinemas.
