You can now watch the popular movie La La Land, a romantic story set in Los Angeles, for free on a streaming service in the UK.
The 2016 musical, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, tells the story of Mia and Seb, who are both pursuing their dreams – she as an actress and he as a jazz pianist.
The film follows two people as they pursue their dreams and fall in love, showing the joys and challenges of their relationship until a deeply emotional ending.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are joined by singer John Legend, playing Keith, a friend of Ryan Gosling’s character, Seb. JK Simmons also returns, continuing his working relationship with director Damien Chazelle after their 2014 film, Whiplash.
Rosemarie DeWitt played the role of Seb’s sister, Laura. Sonoya Mizuno was Caitlin, a friend of Mia’s, and Finn Wittrock played Greg, Mia’s former boyfriend.
When La La Land premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2016, it earned widespread praise. Critics described it as a vibrant and beautiful musical, calling it both a “sun-drenched masterpiece” (according to The Guardian) and “a sweet celebration of movies” (Sight & Sound).
This popular film is currently receiving excellent reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and was a major award winner in 2017. It earned six Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Emma Stone and Best Director for Damien Chazelle, who is still the youngest person ever to win that award.
There was a funny mistake at the awards show when La La Land was accidentally declared the winner of Best Picture.
The announcement of Barry Jenkins’ film Moonlight as the actual winner came only after Damien Chazelle, the cast, and producers had already taken the stage, creating one of the most famously uncomfortable moments in awards show history.
