Emma Heming Willis congratulates Demi Moore in sweet tribute as star wins first ever major gong at the Golden Globes for The Substance
Emma Heming Willis expressed her congratulations to Demi Moore following her successful acquisition of a Golden Globe Award during Sunday’s ceremony.
In the award ceremony, the 62-year-old actress was honored with the prestigious award, “Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture,” for her exceptional role in “The Substance.
Additionally, Emma, who is now married to Bruce Willis (former spouse of Demi), posted on social media to extend her congratulations to the esteemed figure in Hollywood.
Emma, age 46 and wife of Bruce since 2009, recently posted a picture of Demi walking in her wedding dress from the back, accompanied by the message: “We’re shouting with joy over here!! Congratulations @demimoore!!!!!
Demi shares three daughters with Bruce: Rumer (age 36), Scout (age 33), and Tallulah (age 30). They too extended their well wishes to the actress.
The daughters were also captured on camera, expressing their emotions as their mother won a significant acting award for the first time since she began her career in the 1980s.
Upon setting foot on the stage, Moore was met with applause from the VIP crowd, to which he responded, “I must admit, I didn’t anticipate this.
Currently, I’m utterly astounded. Despite my extensive experience spanning more than four decades in acting – approximately 45 years – I’ve never before been awarded for my performances on stage or screen. This is entirely new to me.
She expressed her profound gratitude and humility, then brought up an old memory when a producer had once labeled her as a ‘popcorn actress’.
At that point, Moore expressed feeling as though she wasn’t permitted to excel in her career or achieve success in film, despite producing profitable movies, yet recognition continued to elude her.
As I embraced the idea and had faith that it held truth, it subtly eroded my conviction, leading me to question if I had reached my full potential, if I had accomplished what I was destined for, approximately a few years back.
She remembered thinking, “At a time when I felt somewhat down, an extraordinary, daring, brave, unconventional script named ‘The Substance’ landed on my desk. The universe seemed to be telling me that there was still more to accomplish.
Later, Demi graciously acknowledged Coralie Fargeat, the director, ‘for having faith in me, allowing me to take on this female character.’
Apart from expressing gratitude towards her fellow actor, Margaret Qualley, she acknowledged the kindness shown to her. Additionally, she recognized all those who have remained supportive, particularly those who had faith in her even when she lacked confidence in herself.
Near the conclusion of her heartfelt address, the actress playing the Ghost concluded by saying, ‘Allow me to share one thought with you.’
In certain scenes, the movie seems to convey a message that often makes us question our intelligence, attractiveness, physique, accomplishments, or overall worth, suggesting we’re somehow not good enough.

Last September 2024, the movie titled “The Substance” made its premiere in cinemas, featuring a talented ensemble including Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaid, Hugo Diego Garcia, and Oscar Lesage.

Before taking on her role in The Substance, Demi had thought her Hollywood career was ‘complete.’
During the SFFILM Awards held in San Francisco in December, she discussed the topic when she received the Maria Manetti Shrem Award for Acting.
The celebrity stated, “My career has spanned a great length, yet I haven’t typically been involved in the discussions that would have granted me entry into award ceremonies and allowed for the appreciation and recognition of my work. I am truly overwhelmed by this honor.
In early 2022, I found myself in a situation during an event where I felt out of place. I couldn’t explain why I was there, and I yearned for anonymity. I was struggling to find a way to exit the gathering.
Two weeks after pondering, ‘Perhaps my work here is finished, perhaps all that I was meant to accomplish has been done,’ a script titled ‘The Substance’ landed on my desk.
Demi confessed that she had almost decided to take a step back, but expressed gratitude for sticking around, as she addressed the audience.
On a memorable Sunday evening, Moore returned to the stage, this time accompanied by Qualley, as they handed out the prize for the Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama category. The honors were bestowed upon Hiroyuki Sanada on that occasion.
Within the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel, one of its grand ballrooms served as the backdrop, where Margaret and Demi exchanged radiant grins for an unforgettable photo opportunity.
