Emma Corrin’s “superb” crime series gets new UK streaming home – free to watch

In the United Kingdom, it’s now possible to stream at no cost the critically-acclaimed murder mystery series starring Emma Corrin and Harris Dickinson without any charges.

2023 saw the debut of “A Murder at the End of the World,” featuring Corrin as the detective, Darby Hart. This tech-inclined character finds herself among eight diverse individuals, all invited to a retreat in Iceland hosted by the enigmatic billionaire, Andy Ronson, portrayed by Clive Owen.

The murder-mystery series featuring Darby and Bill (Dickinson), with cases spread across various timeframes, is set to stream for free on ITVX, the streaming service provided by ITV.

The series initially aired on FX and Hulu within the United States, but starting from May 25th, it’s been made available for streaming in the UK exclusively on Disney+. This change came about due to a licensing agreement between Disney Entertainment and ITV.

In a four-star review by Digital Spy, the show is referred to as both “superb” and “advancing”. This production is the brainchild of creative team Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, with Marling herself taking on the role of Andy’s wife, the mysterious former hacker Lee Andersen.

Previously, Marling and Batmanglij developed the Netflix series “The OA,” which skillfully combines science fiction and fantasy themes. This captivating show centers around the character of Prairie Johnson (Marling), who mysteriously reappears following a seven-year disappearance.

Regardless of positive reviews and audience excitement, the show The OA ended after just two seasons in 2019. Sadly, despite fan efforts to keep it going, their campaign for a continuation fell short of success.

Marling expressed her gratitude to fans through a post, mentioning that she and Batmanglij were overwhelmed by the affection shown to them.

“Your words and images move us deeply,” she wrote on Instagram.

The reason for continuing the show isn’t just for it to carry on, but rather due to the fact that its sudden termination raises significant questions about the importance of storytelling within the context of late capitalism’s drive towards mergers and cost-cutting measures.

Starting on 25th May, the thriller “A Murder at the End of the World” can be watched on ITVX in the United Kingdom. You can also catch it on Disney+.

You can grab the “British Comedy Legends” issue from your local newsstand or buy it online, now selling for only £3.99.
