Emily Seebohm recently posted a heartwarming photo of her two-year-old son, Sampson, bonding with her new boyfriend, shortly after a bit of controversy surrounding her Christmas photos.
On Monday night, the 33-year-old Olympic swimmer posted a photo on social media of her new boyfriend, Brandon Caust, sharing a tender moment with her son.
The couple was relaxing on the bed, and their young child was cuddled up against Brandon, enjoying the quiet moment with them.
Emily shared a photo with a playful caption, pointedly writing it was ‘for the trolls’.
On the same day, Emily’s ex, 37-year-old Ryan Gallagher, posted his own set of photos showing him and Sampson enjoying time together, along with a message that seemed directed at Emily.
‘Can’t wait to see my little angel this afternoon,’ Ryan wrote next to the pictures.

Okay, so this whole thing started because some random person online just had to leave a nasty comment about Emily’s Christmas photo! Honestly, it made me so mad! She posted this adorable picture of her family, and there’s her little guy sitting on her new boyfriend’s lap, and this troll just attacked her for it. But Emily? She wasn’t having it! She immediately fired back, and I was living for it! She totally shut them down, and good for her – she doesn’t deserve that negativity!
The photo features the athlete and her two-year-old son, whom she shares with her former partner, Ryan Gallagher from Married At First Sight. They’re pictured in a charming Christmas-themed portrait, dressed as Santa.
Emily and her partner brought Emily’s new boyfriend, Brandon Caust, along, and their toddler happily sat on his lap.
Emily shared a photo on Instagram during the holidays, captioning it simply ‘Merry Christmas’.
The post received some negative feedback, with one person writing that it felt disrespectful towards her son’s father.
‘Sure have a photo together, but have your boy sit on your lap.’
The athlete responded quickly, explaining that his son had picked his own seat and that his son’s preference was the only thing that mattered.
Another message from the same online harasser said, ‘I assumed you, as the parent, would be teaching your son about understanding emotions and how things seem to others.’

Emily didn’t respond directly, but she posted on her Instagram Story, writing ‘Wow, some people’ and including a facepalm emoji.
The swimmer and her former partner, Ryan, publicly separated in November, following months of speculation about their relationship.
