Emily Osment Wants Dolly Parton On Georgie & Mandy (And She Has A Great Role In Mind)

The second season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is moving quickly, and as a Christmas episode wraps up the 2025 season, people are starting to think about what’s next. Emily Osment has a fantastic idea for guest stars in the 2026 episodes – she’d love to have Dolly Parton on the CBS sitcom, and she even has a role in mind for the country music icon.

Haley Osment recently told Us Weekly which celebrity guest she and the rest of the cast would love to see on the show. She immediately revealed their top choice: Dolly Parton. Osment is hoping to manifest this dream casting!

Emily Osment spoke for many when she said the cast and crew would love to have Dolly Parton appear on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, and I think she’s right. Montana Jordan actually suggested Parton earlier this year when asked about potential guest stars. It seems like the show has a lot of fans of the country music legend, both on set and among viewers.

Considering the show Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is set in the 90s and cleverly minimized the screen time of celebrity cameos like Jay Leno and Dr. Demento, it’s unlikely Dolly Parton would appear as herself. However, Osment revealed there’s one character she’s always been curious about, and she’s hoping Dolly Parton will play that part.

I’m really curious to meet Mandy’s grandmother – whoever she is! Montana and I have often talked about wanting to find out who Audrey’s mother is. People don’t just become who they are without influence, and we’re interested in learning about the woman who helped shape Audrey into the person she is today.

I really enjoyed Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, and I think it would be fun to see Dolly Parton play Audrey McAllister’s mother. However, I’m not sure she’d be a good fit, since Audrey is usually portrayed as sharp-tongued and manipulative. It could work if the humor came from how much nicer Dolly’s character is compared to Audrey!

Emily Osment shared that working with Dolly Parton felt like coming full circle, since they previously collaborated when Osment was on Hannah Montana. While many focus on the close bond between Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus, it’s easy to overlook that Osment was also part of that show.

I met Dolly a long time ago, and I’m not sure she recalls it. She’s such a star, it was likely just a small moment for her. Still, working with her again would be amazing!

Wouldn’t it be amazing to see Dolly Parton appear on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage? It’s just a question of whether her schedule allows. She’s faced some health issues this year, and while her sister’s concerns worried fans, her team has said her recent kidney stone treatment wasn’t serious.

Dolly Parton hasn’t been on TV since 2023, when she honored Leslie Jordan on Call Me Kat. While it’s been a while since she’s done any acting outside of music videos, it’s possible she’d appear on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. I think it would be a great addition to the CBS sitcom, and I’m hoping she’ll consider it.
