Oh my goodness gracious, y’all! As a die-hard fan of Lily Collins and Emily in Paris, I was absolutely thrilled to see Lily stepping out of her character’s heels and into some friendly competition with an Olympic athlete! The way she effortlessly channeled her inner Emily while still keeping it real was just a delight to watch.

I wouldn’t see Emily competing in the Paris Olympics anytime soon in that outfit, but luckily for us, actress Lily Collins hasn’t lost her chance to shine – with a touch of French bravery on her side.

35-year-old actor, known for his role in Emily in Paris, teamed up with American heptathlete Anna Hall in a friendly competition to pop open bottles of ‘champere’, the champagne brand associated with his character’s job on the Netflix series.

In a video shared on social media, Miss Collins invites Miss Hall, who is 23 years old, to participate in a playful challenge. As she gestures towards the actress’s four-inch Ferragamo sandals, a surprised Miss Hall queries: “Are you planning to run in those shoes?”

Ms. Collins responds: “With these troublemakers? I’d rather not be provoked. Yes, I’ve been there before, but not this time. Who mentioned the idea of a chase?”

Afterward, she rolls a cart bearing two sparkling wine bottles towards Ms. Hall, saying, “Whoever can open their champagne bottle the quickest, let’s find out!”

In a swift competition to open their beverages, the athlete quickly removes the foil first, securing an initial lead. However, Ms. Collins swiftly catches up, successfully pulling out the cork next and erupting in cheer as the effervescence bursts forth.

Ms. Hall, who competed against Team GB’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson last night, humbly requests of her: ‘I hope you won’t reveal to anyone that I was the one you defeated.’

Ms Collins whispers, ‘it’ll be our little secret’ before pulling her in for a photo.

Yesterday, Emily and Anna were featured on a post by Ms. Collins to her 28 million Instagram followers, with the caption: “Emily and Anna in Paris.”

Enjoyed an amazing time filming alongside the fantastic Anna Hall, an Olympic athlete and a true powerhouse! If you’re not already keeping up with her journey, be sure to join us in supporting her at the games in Paris!

For the NBC shoot, Ms. Collins donned a sparkling black Valentino beret, a £4,900 rose-themed skirt, and a £263 tie from the same designer brand.

Some other footage displayed her getting her lipstick reapplied and dancing as if standing before a virtual backdrop of the iconic Eiffel Tower.

As a devoted fan following Ms. Collins, I’ve noticed that her new wardrobe for the upcoming fourth season of our favorite show is significantly simpler compared to previous ones. It seems like she’s going for a more minimalist approach with her character’s attire. Can’t wait until Thursday when the series returns!

She said last week: ‘I found more of myself in Emily this season. Taking more risks in fashion being more paired down and minimalist – which is more risky for Emily – but is closer to home for me.’
