Emily in Paris star Lucas Bravo’s show future confirmed
As a dedicated fan who’s spent countless hours immersed in the charming world of Emily in Paris, I can’t help but express my relief and excitement at the news that season 5 will primarily be set in the city of love – Paris! The tantalizing teaser of Rome in season 4 has only fueled my anticipation for the upcoming chapters.
Emily in Paris is set to remain within the French borders during the next season, as Lucas Bravo’s character, Chef Gabriel, will reappear for a new, distinctly Parisian episode.
Despite rumors suggesting that Season 5 of the Netflix series would be filmed in Rome, since part of the fourth season was there, it has been officially announced that filming for Season 5 will resume in Paris come May of next year (as reported by Variety)).
In season 5, the character portrayed by Lily Collins as a Chicago marketing executive is likely to delve deeper into Rome, but the upcoming episodes are anticipated to return to the series’ roots and predominantly be filmed in the City of Lights (Paris).
In essence, this implies that the audience will be treated to a greater amount of scenes featuring Chef Gabriel, portrayed by Lucas Bravo. The romantic tension between ‘Gabriel’ and Emily, which has been a central theme since the first season, has frequently revolved around unexpected twists to maintain their on-again, off-again relationship.
Similar to some enthusiasts of the show, Bravo has expressed similar feelings of dissatisfaction towards certain storylines involving his on-screen chef, who is now the proprietor of a newly Michelin-starred restaurant. The actor has recently expressed his reservations about Gabriel’s narrative trajectory over the past couple of seasons, stating that he felt detached from his character.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that the ‘sexy chef’ was incredibly close to my heart during season 1. However, as the seasons progressed, we seemed to drift further and further apart due to the choices he made and the paths they steered him down. Currently, I find myself quite distanced from him, a space I never thought I’d occupy. This is what Bravo shared with IndieWire.
The season 4 cliffhanger saw Gabriel rush to Rome to declare his love for Emily yet again.
Before making this significant move, Emily entered into a fresh romance with Marcello, an Italian nobleman who inherited a cashmere dynasty managed by Agence Grateau. This agreement implied that Emily would relocate to Italy for a period of at least six months to manage the account.
Emily in Paris seasons 1-4 are available now on Netflix.
