Emily in Paris fans go WILD after Lily Collins confirms hit Netflix series has been renewed for a fifth season
As a devoted fan of Emily in Paris, I can’t help but feel a sense of pure joy and anticipation as season four part two unfolded, transporting us to the enchanting city of Rome. Having visited Italy numerous times, I share Lily Collins’ enthusiasm for the possibility of exploring more of this magnificent country in the upcoming season five. The cast’s excitement was palpable, and it reminded me of my own wide-eyed wonder as a first-time visitor, taking in the breathtaking sights and rich culture that Italy offers.
Many people on social media platforms rushed to express their thoughts after hearing that Netflix’s popular show, Emily in Paris, will return for another season, specifically its fifth.
Eagerly, I found myself bursting with anticipation upon hearing Lily Collins’ thrilling revelation on Good Morning America – she was set to reprise her role as the ambitious marketing executive, Emily Cooper, in our beloved romantic comedy series. The news took both me and fellow fans by surprise, but it only served to stoke the flames of our enthusiasm!
‘What visa is she on?’ one joked.
Another insisted: ‘For my mental health there should be a new season of Emily in Paris monthly.’
‘I want to watch a new season of Emily in Paris every year until I die,’ a third wrote.
‘Oh yay my forever guilty pleasure,’ a fourth raved.
Some viewers, however, quipped they couldn’t believe some people are ‘still watching this show.’
‘This show is so bad. I can’t stop watching it though [sobbing emoji],’ another X user tweeted.
Another asked: ‘Why are they making more seasons????’
Regardless of varying opinions among viewers regarding its fourth season, divided into two halves, it managed to secure the top spot on the Netflix Global Top 10 upon its release in August.
As stated on the Tudum website run by Netflix, the show accumulated a staggering 19.9 million views within its initial four days and managed to secure a spot among the top ten most-watched series in as many as 93 different countries.
The overwhelmingly positive reception to the current season of Emily in Paris has left us ecstatic, and we can’t wait to bring you another installment, number five, to further explore Emily’s journeys in both Rome and Paris! This is according to the creator, Darren Star, who shared this news with the media.
Collins excitedly confirmed Emily in Paris will be returning for season five on Netflix on Monday.
‘For the first time I get to talk about the fact that there will be a season five,’ she told presenter Rebecca Jarvis on Good Morning America.
‘We all just found out ourselves, so this is brand new for everyone. I’m very excited.’
The second half of Emily in Paris’s fourth season was released on September 12, taking viewers along with Emily as she explored the enchanting city of Rome.
Regarding the fresh setting, Lily shared her aspirations for herself and the team to explore more of Italy during the upcoming season.
She expressed her hope that for the upcoming fifth season, we delve deeper into Italy, as we currently focus on exploring Rome.
We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful time together. The entire group seemed reminiscent of Emily during her first season, dashing about the city with sparkling eyes and every moment brimming with exhilaration.
Additionally, she revealed her experiences working alongside Brigitte Macron, the first lady of France, following her guest spot in the show during its fourth season.
She expressed deep gratitude, stating it was an immense privilege for her. It was equally astonishing to learn that she is genuinely fond of the program and eager to contribute to its success.
She asked Darren [Star] and me to discuss the show, its impact on France and Paris, with her a couple of years back.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about an extraordinary moment. In the first season, she brought her cameo to life with wit and humor that left us all in awe. Somehow, we managed to incorporate her into our world, and she graced our set. Improvising effortlessly, she made the show even more captivating. Her improv was simply magical!
In the recently aired series, it chronicled the tumultuous happenings surrounding the flawed marriage of characters Camille (portrayed by Camille Razat) and Gabriel (brought to life by Lucas Bravo).
Initially, Emily harbored deep emotions for both Gabriel and Alfie (played by Lucien Laviscount as Alfie). However, it was revealed that Gabriel was having a baby with his former partner, Camille, and Alfie’s suspicions about Emily and Gabriel were tragically validated.
In their joint pursuit of a coveted Michelin star, the partnership between Emily and Gabriel seems unstoppable, yet two hidden truths could potentially shatter all their long-held aspirations.
In the face of old routines butting heads with fresh challenges, Emily finds herself attracted towards a possible new romantic interest… as well as a different location.
In part two, Emily’s flight back to Chicago is cancelled.
Despite home being the most comforting during holiday seasons, she finds herself celebrating Christmas Eve with Gabriel and Camille’s family in Megève instead.
On the heels of her latest romantic prospect, Marcello, portrayed by Eugenio Franceschini, enters the scene. After their inaugural date in Paris, Emily decides to travel to Rome to see him.
The ending presents an exciting prospect for Emily: spearheading a Rome-based office, a suggestion that Sylvie wholeheartedly endorses. This move not only allows Emily to remain in captivating Italy but also brings her closer to her new partner.
