Milan is a major center for fashion, making it a fitting location for filming the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Filming for the long-awaited sequel has started up again in the city, and the entire cast was together on set for the first time today.
Emily Blunt quickly greeted Anne Hathaway with a hug when she returned to set to play her character, the sharp-witted Emily Charlton, and they continued filming.
Emily wore a green hoodie and jacket, and Anne, known for her role as Andy Sachs, chose a striking outfit with a long red leather trench coat and a silver pantsuit.
The cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been filming in Milan recently, and stars Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were even seen at the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show.
Emily spoke out after calling the AI-created actress, Tilly Norwood, ‘terrifying’ and urging talent agencies not to work with her.

Xicoia, an AI studio, introduced a digital actress – a young woman with brown hair – and revealed the project at the Zurich Film Festival with Eline Van der Velden.
Tilly is quickly gaining attention from talent scouts, and Emily, known for her role in Smashing Machine, has admitted she’s very worried about it.
Okay, so Variety asked me about that report on Tilly, and honestly, I’m just… reeling. It’s hard to even put into words. It’s not about being disappointed, it’s just… terrifying. Seriously, it’s absolutely terrifying to even think about.
Wait, that’s actually an AI? Oh wow, that’s frightening. Please, intelligence agencies, don’t do this. We need to preserve genuine human interaction, so please stop replacing it with AI.
Emily learned that Tilly was created to look like a blend of well-known stars, and was even described as being designed to be ‘the next Scarlett Johansson’.
Emily replied: ‘But we have Scarlett Johansson.’
And she isn’t the only Hollywood star voicing their criticisms.
Melissa Barrera, known for her role in the “Scream” movies, publicly expressed her disapproval of Tilly’s casting news, calling it “gross” in an Instagram Story.

She wrote in the caption: ‘I hope any actors represented by this agent see this and cut ties with them. It’s really inappropriate and shows a lack of awareness.’
The next installment is scheduled to come out in May 2026, marking the 20th anniversary of the first film’s huge impact on popular culture.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing that the new series will center around Miranda navigating the challenges of the magazine world these days. They’re keeping the specifics under wraps, but it sounds like we’ll see her dealing with the difficulties print publications are facing right now – it’s a really relatable topic!
Sources say she’ll likely need help from her old assistant, Emily (played by Emily Blunt, now a high-ranking executive at a luxury brand), to land important advertising contracts.
There were rumors that Emily’s character in the first movie was based on Victoria ‘Plum’ Sykes, a former writer for Vogue, but Sykes has repeatedly denied the connection.
Many believe Miranda Priestly, the character in the film, was based on Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue. Wintour recently announced she will be leaving her position after 37 years.
The film *The Devil Wears Prada* was a huge success, becoming a major part of popular culture. Meryl Streep’s portrayal of Miranda Priestly quickly became iconic, and the film’s famous line, ‘That’s all,’ resonated with fashion fans everywhere.
The film received two Academy Award nominations, with Meryl Streep being nominated for Best Actress. She also won a Golden Globe award for her performance in a musical or comedy film.
The show received five BAFTA nominations and three Golden Globe nominations, and it’s now considered one of the most important and memorable comedies of the 2000s.
David Frankel will direct the sequel, and Aline Brosh McKenna is returning to write the script, just as they did with the first movie.
The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and was published in 2003.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! They turned *The Devil Wears Prada* into a musical! And get this – Vanessa Williams is playing Miranda Priestly! Can you even imagine?! Plus, Elton John is doing the music! I’m already trying to get tickets, it’s going to be AMAZING!
