Emily Atack Turns Up the Heat at BAFTAs in Eighties Glam—PVC Gloves and Sky-High Slit!

Emily Atack turned heads in a white gown paired with striking leather gloves that went up to her elbows, while she was pictured with fellow Rivals cast member Alex Hassell before the BAFTA Television Awards on Sunday.

Referencing the ’80s style of Rivals, now in pre-production for its second season, the actress was stunningly dressed in a form-fitting outfit characterized by broad shoulder pads and brief sleeves.

She showcased her long legs with a high thigh slit and added height to her appearance by wearing black high heels.

Styling her long blonde tresses in waves, Emily toted her belongings in a satin black handbag.

The actress from The Inbetweeners series beamed with joy while taking photos alongside Alex, who exuded elegance in a black jacket, matching pants, and a brown bow tie.

On Instagram, Emily confessed that she might feel too warm in her leather gloves, expressing her thoughts thusly: “BAFTA Sunday. The red carpet is going to be swelteringly hot.

At this glamorous event, numerous famous personalities are expected to win accolades for exceptional TV work, along with some remarkable stage shows.

Notable musicians Jessie J and Tom Grennan are each scheduled to perform at an upcoming event. Remarkably, Jessie J will be making her first television appearance in six years with “The Award Goes To” being her chosen song.

Two popular music artists, Jessie J and Tom Grennan, have been confirmed for a performance at the upcoming ceremony. After six years, fans can look forward to seeing Jessie J on TV again as she performs “The Award Goes To.

Simultaneously, the renowned multi-platinum pop star, Tom, is set to debut his latest hit single “Full Attention” exclusively on television.

Moreover, BAFTA has verified that award-winning concert violinist and social media phenomenon Esther Abrami will play Apple Tree as part of the In Memoriam tribute.

Regarding her performance, Jessie J stated: “It’s been a long time since I sang on British TV. This was quite a remarkable return; it’s truly an honor. However, the big question now is who will receive the award.

Additionally, Tom expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s truly an honor to be asked to perform at the renowned BAFTA gathering, among so many respected actors and artists.

For the very first time, renowned Scottish performer, scriptwriter, producer, and television personality, Alan Cumming, will be the host for an extravagant event.

Emma Baehr, the head of Awards & Content at BAFTA, expressed her joy that Alan Cumming will serve as the host for this year’s BAFTA Television Awards, in partnership with P&O Cruises.

In another location, it’s revealed who’s nominated for the P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award at the BAFTA Television Awards 2025.

Six highly praised television series from this year, including Gavin & Stacey, The Traitors, and Bridgerton, will compete for one of the night’s top honors at the award show.

In this category, it’s solely open for the public to express their preference by voting on their most beloved scene.

Last year’s BAFTA Television Awards attracted approximately 2.7 million viewers on BBC One and iPlayer, while social media content from the event garnered more than 7 million views.

For the very first time in its 20-year run, Strictly Come Dancing was not nominated for any awards, unlike previous years.

Each year since the relaunch of the program in 2004, the beloved BBC pick has consistently been nominated for the Entertainment Programme award.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but be thrilled about the astounding eight nominations that Baby Reindeer, this year’s Netflix sensation, has garnered. Since its successful debut last year, it has captured the hearts of viewers worldwide.

Richard Gadd, the writer and lead actor of a series based on his personal stalking ordeal, has been nominated for the Lead Actor category, while his fellow actress, Jessica Gunning, is nominated for the Supporting Actress award.

In the “Limited Drama” category, Baby Reindeer will go up against ITV’s drama titled Mr. Bates versus The Post Office. This drama is inspired by one of the most significant miscarriages of justice in British legal history. It tells the story where numerous innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses were falsely accused of theft, fraud, and accounting irregularities due to a faulty IT system.

In the case of awards, both Mr. Bates and The Post Office, as well as the Disney series Rivals and Apple TV’s Slow Horses, each received six nominations.

Among the nominees for the best entertainment performance, I find myself honored to be included alongside Ant, Dec, the cast of The Traitors, and Stacey Solomon from Sort Your Life Out. It’s a privilege to be in such esteemed company!

Here are the top nominees for leading actress: Anna Maxwell Martin (Until I Kill You), Billie Piper (Scoop), Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing), Marisa Abela (Industry), Monica Dolan (Mr. Bates vs The Post Office) and Sharon D Clarke (Mr. Loverman). In simpler terms, these actresses have been recognized for their exceptional performances in their respective movies or series.

David Tennant (“Rivals”), Gary Oldman (“Slow Horses”), Lennie James (“Mr Loverman”), Martin Freeman (“The Responder”), and Toby Jones (“Mr Bates vs The Post Office”) competing for the best acting award, each delivering remarkable performances.

Actor Danny Dyer, well-known for his roles on soap operas, has been nominated for his first British Academy Award in the Best Male Comedy Performance category, thanks to his role in “Mr Bigstuff.

In the illustrious Best Drama Category, the intense crime dramas “Blue Lights” and “Sherwood” will compete against the popular superhero series “Supacell” and the highly-acclaimed historical drama “Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light.

According to Jane Millichip, CEO of Bafta, the year 2024 was exceptional in television, as demonstrated by the 134 outstanding programs selected by Bafta members for nomination.

Television’s ability to spark nationwide discussions, delve into compelling narratives that resonate with the public, and catalyze societal transformation, is unparalleled. What makes it even more remarkable is its capacity to achieve this across all genres.

This year’s nominees encompass a variety of emotions that mirror different facets of the human experience: the thrill and intensity of sports, the relatability of fiction, the raw reality of documentaries, the poignant humor of comedy, and profound entertainment in its entirety.

UK television is currently thriving, and it’s an honor for BAFTA to highlight the exceptional work of our incredibly gifted nominees at the BAFTA Television Craft Awards and BAFTA Television Awards presented by P&O Cruises.
