Emily Atack spotted in extreme ’80s makeover in first look at “addictive” returning soapy drama

Emily Atack is back filming raunchy series Rivals in an extremely 1980s look.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the engrossing Disney+ period drama about the independent TV conflict in the late ’80s is set to make a comeback! Right now, the talented cast and crew are hard at work, capturing the magic of the new episodes on film.

Actress playing Sarah Stratton on the show, Attack, was recently seen on set donning an authentic ’80s ensemble and hairstyle.

From images published by Digital Spy, it appears that Atack reprises her role as Sarah, who was both the second spouse and former mistress of Paul Stratton (played by Rufus Jones), and now aims to become a television host.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but notice the striking new look in the latest photos! Attack is flaunting a vibrant jumpsuit and voluminous blonde hair with a touch of glamour. Her accessorizing game is on point, featuring large, heart-shaped, gold chandelier earrings that seem heavy yet elegant, complemented by a matching gold necklace.

Earlier, we posted some images of the actors to signal the commencement of shooting for the upcoming season.

In the photos, we see Danny Dyer playing Freddie Jones, Lisa McGrillis portraying his wife Valerie, along with actors Nafessa Williams as Cameron Cook, Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black, and Aidan Turner as Declan O’Hara.

David Tennant, who was missing from the photos, will reappear in his character, Lord Baddingham, following the suspenseful ending of Season 1.

In conversations with Digital Spy and other media outlets recently, Dyer expressed his excitement that the upcoming chapter would surpass the success of the initial installment. The first season garnered widespread praise, earning the title of Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics have been raving about its engaging quality.

He mentioned that his focus would be solely on returning Freddie, and he considers this series to be significantly superior to the initial one, when discussing his return to the filming location.

He remarked, “In a way, it seems like the struggle often faced with the second project, but I must say, the creators have truly outdone themselves in this instance.

To be truthful, I’m really excited for others to check it out. This project has been a delight for me, and working alongside Katherine Parkinson as Lizzie Vereker has been an absolute pleasure.

In the first season of Rivals, you can now stream it on Disney+. They’re currently working on a second season that will be released on the streaming platform at a future time.

The debut print issue of Digital Spy’s magazine is out now! Purchase “British Comedy Legends” from your local newsstands or online stores for only £3.99.
