As an ardent fan of Emily Atack’s illustrious career, I find myself captivated by her unyielding spirit and resilience in navigating the complexities of Hollywood. Her journey from the quirky Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners to her current role as a sexually liberated Tory in Rivals is nothing short of inspiring.

Nudity and sex scenes have played a large part in her career as an actress.

Emily Atack, well-known for playing Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe at the age of 17 in the Channel Four show The Inbetweeners, has expressed that actresses often face a losing battle regarding portraying on-screen sexual behavior.

“Regardless of what you choose, you’ll face criticism. If you decide to remain modest, people might label you as prudish or like a nun, but if you opt for revealing clothing, they might call you promiscuous or a temptress.

However, I am deeply passionate about my work. If a character I portray necessitates nudity for the narrative and it’s essential to the storyline, and I feel secure, then I find myself perfectly positioned.

I’ve discovered that it’s not my actions that require adjustment, but others’. I’ve come to reclaim the story that was once mine – about my sexuality and my body.

In the forthcoming Disney Plus series titled “Rivals,” based on the sensational Jilly Cooper novels, Ms. Atack assumes the role of Sarah Stratton, the spouse of the Deputy Prime Minister. Her character is depicted without a top in several instances across the eight-episode run.

In a conversation with Radio Times, Ms Atack mentioned that the entire cast was alerted in advance about the inclusion of nudity and intimate scenes. This meant everyone was aware of the nature of the project they were involved in.

As a passionate enthusiast, I find these roles quite exhilarating. At this stage in my life, I embrace the sense of freedom that comes with it. I take great joy in every task, and let me tell you, it’s a privilege to be part of Jilly Cooper’s work.

In a shift from her previous role, she now embodies a character advocating sexual freedom, appearing bare-chested as a Conservative figure. This follows her leading a controversial campaign with the phrase “I’m asking for it,” which received harsh criticism from survivors of sexual abuse due to its seemingly insensitive tone regarding sensitive issues.

In reaction to accusations of inconsistency in her opinions, the mother-of-one stated yesterday: “Many might question, ‘But wait a moment. One instant she’s discussing violence against women, and the next she’s appearing undressed on stage.’

‘That doesn’t correlate,’ but what I’m trying to show is that it should not matter at all.’

Last year, Ms. Atack, who recently welcomed her baby boy Barney, showcased a documentary titled “Asking For It,” where she shared her experiences with daily online sexual harassment.

In the course of our conversation, I mentioned that some of my past TV characters, like Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe from The Inbetweeners, might have influenced an objectification or sexualization in online spaces.

Ms. Atack stated: “It’s dreadful as things have spiraled out of hand, leaving me feeling both ashamed and enraged, for fear that I’ve let this happen.

In the process, she shared her thoughts about how the role of Sarah Stratton felt incredibly suitable for her and expressed that it reminded her of the excitement she felt when auditioning for Charlotte from The Inbetweeners. She explained that she had the same sensation in her stomach, akin to ‘Oh my god, this is just right for me.’
